RobAuto by Hidjy

[raw]
made by Hidjy for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Move your character with WASD. (There is no menu, quit with ESC)

Your goal is to help your little robot friends get to their respective goals (marked with a ☑️)

But your robot friends are stuck in a behavior loop: they each have a predefined action loop.

You can alter their trajectory by preventing them from doing specific actions, like blocking a down move so they don't get stuck.

robauto-blue.gif (You can push round buttons, the robot can push the square ones.)

Very clever puzzler, and great use of the theme! There were some really nice touches too, like the slight pause before the robot moves after teleporting, the foreshadowing of the laser trap, really good design. I think a way to speed up the robot would've been helpful, since sometimes I'd mess up movement but need to wait for him to get all the way to the end. Otherwise I enjoy this a lot, great job!

Great game! The graphics are amazing, and the concept is good. Only problem is you need to wait for quite a while to beat some of the levels (a fast forward button would be nice).

Excellent execution and original take on the theme! I found the puzzles to be quite clever and fun to solve. Please note that it's possible to block yourself in with no way to reset the level in the room with skulls (cube is yellow with RDL combination). Taking the cube to the bottom left and placing yourself on the inner part of the 'triangle', you're effectively blocked in. The cube blocks exit from the bottom left and there is no exit (that I can see) from the other part of the room. But great job nevertheless!

Great puzzle game, albeit short.

The graphics were nice and consistent, the background music filling, the animations smooth.
I just love how you put that little lazer sensor to forshadow it: I love me and invisible tutorial!

This game has great potential for a confusing map and a truckfull of puzzle features: good job!

Loved the game, but I would lower the graphics to make it more accessible to people with low level computers.

Great Concept! It would be nice if we could have more levels but I get that it is a game jam version so time must have been a limitation! Greato Jobu!

What a smart game! Solving all the puzzles made me feel amazing. The idea of the robots looping over instructions fits the theme perfectly, and interfering with those instructions simply by moving around is genius. My only real complaints are that there is too few puzzles, and the graphics were a bit too much for my computer to handle.

Great take on the theme. Lots of nice little polish to appreciate too, i guess the big issue is that it never gets as complex as one would hope from the premise but not much else you could've done considering time restraints.

Really nice puzzle! Very clean and soothing. Maybe highlight better the spawn of the cube. Great work.

Really nice game! I loved figuring out the puzzles, but I had a bit of a trouble for the second one (right/bottom), and when I looked at the GIFs, I realized there was a room on the right, and I didn't have to force it to go down. Well, my bad!
Full mark for this game.
