Interesting idea, was fun to play around :)

a preset would probably help to understand it better

Your game is really cool and fun to play. I think the game should have a pause button. Great Job!

I like this, but I didn't understand how to use the green pad, could you explain before I give you ratings? I'm saving this page in my browser ;)

Nice idea. I would have love to get more sound.

@tino thanks for asking ! First you need to move the handles on the top, then when you click one of the green buttons, you store the current deformation of the grid. when moving the green/white circle around, you interpolate between the deformations you stored.
Should have put more time in tutorials :)

@juanv you're totally right, i'll add one in the post jam version

@kpedatte i think in the post-jam desktop version i'll add a way to put user content for the sounds (+ infinite track count)

@spotline Got it to work!
Yeah I can relate to that (not enough time on tutorial, if you check my game you will see :p). So we tried to compensate as we could with the description. Maybe you could try to do the same? (note that you can edit your description at any time not just before the due date, just in case).

So I had some fun with your home made sequencer, made some unorthodox beats with the nasty time shifting feature, also liked that you can choose different patterns (4/4, 7/8, etc..). Cool original entry!

Finally, something about beats and music! Great idea, I love it :)
It's really fun to make the groovy beat from purely straight march.
Good job! Thanks for this!

Very fun idea, haven't seen a lot of games like this :) Solid functions, I especially like that you can scale different parts of the loop by dragging the handles. Sets it apart. Would've liked some more sounds and longer length, but it works for shorter periods.

I liked this one! I enjoy making your own sounds like that. I also like that you can make more measures so you can make longer sounds. Nice job!

I like it! Unfortunately even with reading your explanation of how to use the green controls, I could not figure them out :(

@phindiegames Oh :( I really should have put more energy into UX and tooltips. In the Post-Jam web version you'll see i added tooltips, maybe that will help.

Well green handles and stretching is a real deal here, right? The insane freedom is good, but I really struggled to put it to a good use.. Only trivial stuff comes to mind.. In any case 5/5 innovation I'd say. As a whole, personally I'm not really into the samples, so the big problem is that there only 4 fixed ones.. Individual Volume knobs would be nice. Geometric UI is pretty clear. Maybe think of a gameplay where you replicate the beat by sound.

The musical mechanics involved in the game works well. It is very pleasant to try to create your rhythm. It is a different experience. Congratulations.

i wasn't sure what you were gonna bring to the table since i've used... lots of drum machines and sequencers, both h/w and software, but the grid stretch feature is actually fantastic. it was really easy to add both subtle and not-so-subtle swing to beats in a way that sounded really compelling. great work, i think this is definitely worth pushing further post-jam.

A rather unique take on the theme, and a well executed idea! I found Myself playing around with it for quite some time.

The grid stretching made it more interesting and added a lot of value.

The UI was well done for a jam and the post jam version made the UX better, the the sequencer was really fun and easy to play with! Having a swap-able sound bank would be amazing
All the best for your future projects!

I wasn't expecting to find one of these in the jam but it's well made. I've got a great beat going on and enjoyed playing around with it.

Wow, I feel this is really great to come up with musical prototypes! Placing beats felt really intuitive, as do the other controls. Nice work!

This is a wonderful little web drum DAW with pretty unique time control feature! I had a good time playing with it. I think some simple right click (fill every x beats) would be a nice to have. Also track labels, wasn't sure what I had to work with but I did quickly figure it out

Interesting. I feel like it would greatly benefit from a grid and snapping for stretching and squashing bars.

interesting concept, a few extra sounds or samples to really make a tune would've really rounded the project.. Good implementation, and good job!!

Nice! Not much of a game admittedly but still really fun to play around with. Stretching the grid is a neat idea, most of the time it ended up with weird-sounding rubato effects but it was possible to do swing & groove which was fun. (That relied on locking the in-between grid points, which was maybe undocumented but very much appreciated!) The time signature control was a little bit weird (the big dots landed on weird spots when I tried to do something fairly straightforward like 7/4) but I was glad it was there regardless. There were some small UX bugs, like if you drag between the 4 presets and drag over the main grid it'll enable new notes which is a bit weird. Also would've loved to have a closed hi-hat! Great work.
