Neat! The pixel look is on-point.

I couldn't find any stones to gather however :(.

One of the best games I've played so far! Super simple yet has a fair bit of replayibility. Highest I got was 9, really neat concept.

Fun little game, didn't realize how to gather the stones at first. I did also have an instance where I almost lost the game because an enemy spawned right next to the soul, perhaps ensuring they always spawn on the edge of the screen or a certain distance from the soul?

Very creative game, although I found myself wishing for more variety.

I really liked how simple and effective the controls were, only shooting in cardinal directions makes the action more exciting. Good feel on the shots with recoil and passing through enemies. The gems were a bit hard to pick up for me only managed about 3.
The soul is a cute companion :ghost:

Hey, @fakefrogsonly! I have played your game. It's simple and nice, loved it. Recoil is nice, and an external soul follwing you steps makes it an interesting.

It feels to me, like stones are more likely to spawn if I kill ghosts close to me, but maybe that's just random.

Anyway, great little game! Well done!

I really enjoy this, great use of the theme. This game is all about real-time planning, which is fun and frenetic. I would've liked some UI, like arrows, to show where enemies were approaching from off-screen. Would be cool to see it level based adding different challenges/mechanics :)

Very cool game, great graphics despite its simplicity and good audio. It would be amazing to be able to shoot diagonally. Hope you continue the work on it.

Also thanks to you I found out about that cool tool which is sfxia, it feels better than sfxr :p

Very fun! Love the art and how collecting the soul stones creates interesting moments later on as your soul wanders off

It took me a couple tries before I understood that the soul is following my old path. For my first few games, I was zooming all over the place by propelling myself with the bullets and the soul couldn't keep up. It was a lot of fun moving around by shooting the gun, but the optimal way to play is just moving very slowly right beside my soul, which is a lot less fun. Music was good too.

This is my favorite game from the jam so far. The little gameplay quirks of the soul following on a delay, the recoil, and the penetrating projectiles make for some really interesting and fun decisions for the player. The sound and the art are also great. Excellent work!

Nice concept for a game! Love the soul tracking mechanic combined with the point collection mechanic, keeps you on your toes and keeps a risk / reward style of gameplay.

I like how you move much faster than your soul, meaning the faster and more erratically you move, the more de-synced you get from your soul and the harder it is to control. Cool entry!

Fun and interesting game! Very intuitive. I love the black and white art style. Keep making games!

Hah, what a lie. The ghost's favorite hobby is to take a walk around the level instead of following me to safety :D that's how I lost... it just went straight into a group of enemies and I wasn't fast enough to shot up, because I didn't see them yet. The game is pretty cool, though. I like the reduced art, animations look nice. The shooting feels satisfying and the sound effects help as well. The bgm was a little too funky for my taste, especially considering the theme of ghosts. Something eerie would've been nice (but that's just my taste)

Cool stuff!

The mechanics had depth and thought put in which made for a gripping and satisfying experience.

It was fun. The recoil is a great idea, and the fact that the soul does not only approach you but follow precisly your path is a subtle difference that change quite a lot of thing. : o
Great game.

That was a really interesting idea; I don't think I've ever seen a "breadcrumb" style follow mechanism instead of straight-towards. I also liked the "two-stick" shooting mechanic with wasd for movement and arrows for shooting. Would probably work well as a mobile game, but I'm not sure how it could be extended into a longer game.
I note you excluded yourself from Audio ratings, which is a shame as the sound really adds to the overall feeling of the game.

Cool artstyle, I liked the black and white colorscheme! The mechanics were very interesting and it wasn't as simple as it looked like at first especially when the soul decided to move around

Awesome game, I love the graphics style, I wasn't able to complete it tho, too many demons were spawning and I wasn't able to save the soul. I love the idea with shoot knockback because it can be used to speed you up
