[raw]
made by ZwodahS for Ludum Dare 47 (COMPO)

You are stuck in a loop, so are the enemy. Fight and see how long you survive.

Note: There are 2 control schemes that you can choose from in the menu screen. Try the other if one doesn't suit you

Nice game, I've really enjoyed the enemies types and the level balance was pretty cool, a gem for the genre!

This game is definitely fun to play. Just, think of more ways to bring up the theme next time around. I always consider top down shooters to be kind of a get-out-of-jail-free card for game jams, because they can be made to fit any theme. Good work nonetheless!

Quite a nice take on the old asteroids.

Very nice, and hard. Like the controls, split up in 4 quadrants, so you have to focus even more on moving your ship. Only got to the moving targets, very nice difficulty progression.
Nicely done

@pepijn definitely. I usually don't like to make games in well defined genre like top down shooter or platformer during a jam. I don't like the theme this time round, and I don't really want to do the obvious as well; groundhog day, time loop, spatial loop etc.

I just kind of decided to just make a game and try to make it fun and addictive instead.

Thanks all for playing !

I'm amazed how well this fits the theme! One thing I was missing though: I would have liked to be able to move around the loop the only 2 keys, one for each direction.

Great game. Having multiple control options was a good idea (I actually prefer the 2 button version).

I this would look pretty good with some bloom and a techno soundtrack, or something like that.

I love how simple and fun this is. A background track would make this perfect. I think this would make an awesome mobile game!

The concept is simple but creative. It also fits the theme very well. It is a little distractive that the particle effect has the same color as the enemy bullets.

Really cool take on the astroids genre! The explosions are so satisfying to see! Maybe it would be cool to have upgrades to your gun. It gets boring if you have constantly the same gun.

Fun innovative take on a arcade shooter. Lots and lots of fun and the hard mode is definitely a challange. The only issues I faced was sometimes the character would get stuck in the vertical mid point of the circle and the particles could make it hard to see. Overall a really fun game!

Pretty fun high-score game. I absolutely love how you handled the controls for spinning around, the WASD controls feel very natural, and being stuck to the loop does change the way you escape from bullets. The sound effects are punchy and the addition of hell mode is nice and really shows off how the enemies can also benefit from being in a loop.

Thanks for playing !

I really wanted to implement weapons and powerup, which was why I had an ammo system. However, I realised that the game is already quite complex as it is, hence decided to opt for making sure the game is balanced and fun and not too punishing.

The game was originally just hell mode but I zoom realised it was too hard for others. It was fun for me but I already had played for hours by that point in time. Focusing on the easier round to ease people in was definitely the better move there for me =)

The movement is a bit weird. Could just have 2 keys to move, but otherwise pretty cool!

WOW Top Notch Vector graphics shooting mechanics and responsiveness and everything about the shooting is something I want in my games. What a winner! Thank you!

@barrier There is a second control scheme that you can choose in the menu screen which is a 2 key control. Have a try and see how that feels

@fabdynamic Thanks a lot !

I really liked this game! Gave me that old vector gfx arcade vibe. The gfx were crisp and clean and the gameplay was fun and addictive. I found the 2 button scheme much easier to use than the 4 button scheme. Congrats on finishing and submitting your game!

Fun game! Intense background music would be a plus. I had a bit of difficulty with the controls, but got used to it. The vector style graphics are really nice.

That was a pretty fun game, I managed to get pretty far without dying! I would definitely tone down the particle effects though, because they can obscure the enemy bullets really easily. I'd also maybe add some upgrades or powerups you can get to make the gameplay a little more interesting.

Awesome game! So polished!

A reload button would be nice.

The second control scheme is so much better tho.

Very fun game! The particles were great and the overall feedback was good. I just wish there would be more variety, and a way to regen HP.
Good entry!

oops I misread it :D. I thought you meant "a" second control is better instead of "the" second control is better hahah. thanks !

Woah what a coincidence, we both picked the same name for our game lol!

Having the player and enemies stuck to a loop was an interesting mechanic, and the *juiciness* in this game felt great. The particle effects and sounds made the shooting feel really good. I also love that you added two control schemes because I did not like the default one, but the second one was great.

Overall, nice submission. Good job!

Your game us so fun. Love the arcade graphics. It might be worth adding a scoreboard I think a lot of people would play this to get the top score (maybe add monthly reset)!
