Fishing Around! The fish population has dropped, what can we do! Time to get breeding! How many fish can you breed?

Hi Guys I'm a 15 year old highschooler from Melbourne, Australia. This is my game I made for Ludum Dare 46. It was a blast to make and I enjoyed it thoroughly. If you could leave a rating, positive or negative, that would be greatly appreciated.

LOVE the simplistic art style, pretty fun to play, and fits the theme very well.

Cool take on the theme. It gets out of control really fast haha. Pretty fun to play, well done!

Fun game, I love when the screen is just filled with fish.

Just over a hundred fish for me... seems fairly decent :) The tunes were catchy and the graphics were crisp and easy on the eyes. Fantastic job!

I don't know what I'm doing, but was fun to play for a while. Just trying to click on the green/yellow fish was a challenge!

Nice! My highscore was 195! (Maybe cause i started randomly clicking when the timer reaced 15) The yellow fish were so fast! Love it!

It took me a while to figure out the rules on how to play this one, but that might be part of the game! I eventually figured out that you click on two fish to have them reproduce (and then they cannot reproduce again for a while), and this leads to just tons of fish. As far as I understand. I think it takes little bit to get going (again, intentional or not) but I really like the flat visual style of it! Nice work!

Seemed like I couldn't ever click on a yellow fish. Seemed like the optimal strategy was to just rapidly click as soon as you get a critical mass. Really cute graphics/sounds, dug the aesthetic.

This got me in a happy mood. Though I wish my fishies could just swim around forever, I don't need no game over. :)

At the beginning I really thought it was a fishing game jajaja. I jumped in and selected a fish, expecting a rod to come out... coff coff.
It is relaxing to play it, the background mouse is very good, thumbs up fod that. I would add instructions or some kind of guide and more detailed graphics.

Just really fun to watch hundreds of fish swim.

Unique concept. Polished well with nice audio and simple but pleasing art. Gameplay wasn't the most engaging. Once there was a lot of fish on the screen, it was hard to see what was going on and I just ended up spam clicking everywhere. But for a first time you've done well. Good job!

What you are missing in deep gameplay, you make up for in sounds, artsyle and relaxed mood.
I would really like if endgame screen would still let you look at the fish you spwaned.

This was relaxing, great job :fish:

They... Kiss?! What's next, they're going to hold hands?!?

Relaxing game. Seeing the population increase has a zen factor for me.

As feedback, I've found that I prefered to spam click rather than to aim for rare fish. Since the sea was so full, I figured I'd eventually select a rare fish. To solve this, maybe you can give fish a "lifespan" and remove them afterwards. You'd keep the score but the sea would be scarcer, forcing the player to think it through and chase the rares.

I got 340!
I love clicking on the fish to make them breed. Best surprise was when I finally got one of the fast bois to do it and it spawned a whole mess of them.
Great stuff... keep on coding!

Oh and the music loop is sweet.
Would be amazing to get some water animation on the top layer there.

If they breed why did their population drop?

So many fishes, can't click yellow fishes because they are fast as fuck!

Nice ! It's like a strategic clicker !

I really liked the art and especially the music ! Really soothing :)
I would have love more feedback when I do things, more juiiiice.

I don't really have any idea on how to improve the gameplay, but maybe some kind of "decay", some mechanic where your fishes start to disappear, since too much fish makes the game spammy :D
