Hey there! Louie Games here!. My first Ludum Dare, and Compo at that! Very simple but my playtester found it quite addicting. Please review for me so I know how to improve! Made in Gamemaker Studio 2. Artwork was done with Autodesk Sketchbook and Audio editing with Audacity.

Fun and addictive! Just the right amount of difficulty. If there was a way to use the mouse as the controller that would be cool.

The concept looks pretty funny and mathches with the theme, nice work! :)

YEAR 3018, thats the true end of the Sun, and the Earth. Pretty funny how object collide with each other. Fits 100% to the theme. "You know, the space is too big ..."

Dunking asterorids into the Sun was never this fun!

Good job! :D

I love the _thunk_ sounds the asteroids make!

I think a clearer indicator of the Sun's temperature would have been good, the yellow radius felt... a bit weird...?

Really fun game! Almost broke my keyboard playing haha, the sound effects are great. The game window does appear very tiny, not sure if that's intentional:

Great game for a first submission! I do think the shield should be made a little bigger, as its tiny hitbox makes hitting the asteroids and ice difficult. I also think using the mouse instead of the keyboard as controls would definitely improve the gameplay a lot, since the mouse gives the player more control. Nice work!

Really nice physics interactions. I keps just dropping comets into the sun, but that was entirely my fault.

It's a fun concept and a creative spin on the theme. I think it misses some kind of background music or sound. Out of curiosity: What is the highest score you have ever reached?

The game was easy to understand with good mechanics. Graphics and sounds were simple by appealing. Could have used a little music, but otherwise a nice short fun game!

The highest score I reached was 40 years I think. And yeah I agree it lacks background music. Will be sure to improve my sound and music skills.

Fun little physics sandbox. It could really benefit from mouse controls.

The physics was pretty fun to play around in and bumping stuff around was neat-o. I would have really liked to have had more mass or impact on my ship to really bump off those asteroids, but nevertheless the game was pretty fun.

The sound effects were amazing also and I really enjoyed them!

Very easy to understand - I'm very pleasantly impressed at how much is communicated so elegantly and quickly!!

I agree with other commenters that mouse controls + more "mass" on the ship would go a long way to making your actions feel more consistent + impactful.
The "bonk" sound effects were honestly hilarious to me.

Awesome first submission!!

I love this game! The first time I played it, I got extremely into it, but I failed quickly. The more I practiced, the more I was able to adjust in order to do better. I love games that you can actually IMPROVE at the more you play! The sound effects are goofy (in a great way). Great drawings and gravity mechanics! I can't wait to see more come out of this studio! :D
