Robomata by gagouman
Second Ludum Dare and glad of what I accomplished!
I wasn't too inspired with the theme since I thought it was too broad, but I ended up doing a platformer where you start as a broken robot with no modules attached, not even camera movement! You have to find new modules and make your way to the end of the factory.
Tools used - Construct 2 (Engine) - Paint.NET (Graphics) - Pyxel Edit (Graphics) - Bfxr (Audio) - Otomata (Music)
How to play
Controls are all indicated in the game but for reference: - Use WASD/arrow keys and space to move around. - Use the 'C' key to open up the console. - Left Click: Grapple. - Right Click: Flamethrower.
The game is a little short with only 2 levels, but I ran out of time on my planning of doing another level and adding one more module, let me know your thoughts in the comments below, enjoy!

On the more technical side, the grapple basically deactivate gravity and simulates the player as a bullet until it hits a solid object, once the player hits the button again, it reactivates gravity and normal physics.
The flashlight and enabling the camera were brilliant additions btw and well implemented. Cheers
Only thing that bothered me were the collision boxes. They were in times unclear and extremely precise. I got quite lost in the beginning of the game because I thought I couldn't jump into the platform that has the module.camera upgrade and many times I missed jumps because I couldn't tell if there was enough space for running or not. Better define the boxes and give space for the player to move more freely and you have an amazing game there. Good job.
The tone was set nicely with the lighting and and the music worked well for it. I would definitely enjoy seeing more done with this concept! The main critique for quality of life would be to have the help command display text faster, but I could also understand it as a deliberate choice. Either way I really enjoyed this entry!
