Of all the times of games to come out of this jam, I did not expect a choose-your-own-adventure style game to pop up as it doesn't seem like it fits the theme. Yet, After struggling to finally get the ending where nobody dies, I definitely see how the theme fits your game. Well done! :)

For my first try i saved only 32 people xD
oh a book of which you are the hero I love !! Very fresh as a type of game in this game jam! we are a compatible public to play our respective game, it seems to me, thank you for your very positive opinion on my game. I had made one also on my site but only in French: www.fabien-parisot.com. the game is called "Manoir". And I subscribed to follow your next game. Well done anyway! the type of game I prefer!

On my first attempt, I screwed everything up and lost what was probably as quickly as possible. I gave it another go and managed to save everyone, you did a great job making players care about the crew.

@aerosoap Thank you for the kind comment! That you ended up caring about the crew and acted heroically, compassionately, and wisely to get the winning ending means a lot to us, and that it comes across in such a brief little game is really validating towards our storytelling ability. Again, Thank you. -- Zen

I have not seen text games for a long time. I used to love to play them. Good story and nicely done. But why so short? I just turned on the music to read and it turned out that it was already over) It would be interesting to read the whole story)
And thanks for the great comment and for visiting us)

Great job ! I had fun looking for the best and worst endings, I really liked that my first attempt at being stupidly heroic was not rewarded :)

I liked the idea of a choose your own adventure game. I think you made good consequences for the different choices. Great job!

very nice and enjoyable choose your own adventure game,Having options for background colour, text size and page animations was also pleasantly surprising. Good job!

@crispybacon thank you. Those options were part of the engine we used called ChoiceScript which allowed us to concentrate on writing scenes and handling the game logic while the interface was largely handled for us by ChoiceScript. -- Zen

Played through this a couple of times and was really impressed with how different the outcomes were. Reminds me of old pulpy choose-your-own adventure books I used to read. Congrats on submitting, that was a fun playthrough.

Good and thoughtful idea. Fits to the theme. Needs more rating for your game. keep it up.

Ah a choose your own adventure, strangely refreshing :) It is a bit linear thought but for one writer it can be hard :) Cool game anyway

A bold choice making a text adventure nowadays but I'm really happy you did. You really got me entertained and I had lots of fun. Great game!

Whew, I saved 230 people my first try... and then FAR less the next several lol. Finally ended up with 270-ish at the end but my poor guide died :( Even with that choice alone - 230 alive but nearly dying myself vs 270-ish but the guide died - it's tough! Some additional threads would help I'm sure but this is very nice for a 72-hour jam game!

@cataclysmicknight Thank you for taking the time to play through several endings. I know we had 72 hours to make this but due to some poor health on my part, we really did not get started until Sunday night, and I woke up early Monday morning and wrote a lot of the scenes and added in some game logic (our engine ChoiceScript did all the heavy lifting for the interface) Anna and I plan to make another game in October not sure if it will be another text adventure, but it is likely, really that is Anna's bailiwick as she is more experienced in this than I, just add some creativity and little bit of coding.

But I wanted to motivate you that there is a way to save all 300 crewmembers if it is not too frustrating to play to find it! This games rewards heroism, compassion, and wisdom. A decision made on one scene may affect outcomes a few scenes later, so keep that in mind. -- Zen

@zenandanna WOW, there is?? I really just assumed that there had to be losses, it's cool that you coded in an ending where players can potentially save everyone! And it's great that the decisions can be longer lasting than just the next screen. You both did a great job, especially while not feeling well and doing it in one day!

Very engaging narrative that had me intrigued throughout the short experience and had a great pay-off at the end. I played through a few times to see the different endings and narrative branches. When I got the good ending where I got the medal, it was super-satisfying! Well-written overall, great job.
