Revenge of Loopy the Turtle by Flying Dog Fish
Once upon a time there was a young turtle named Loopy. One day it got stuck in a loop - a ring from a plastic bottle. The turtle grew while the loop didn't so the poor turtle now looks almost broken in two parts.
A while after growing up Loopy decided to take revenge upon the whole world by getting other animals stuck in loops of plastic. For some inexplicable reason it got stuck in another loop .. a cart speeding around a looped railway track in the shape of the Lemniscate, a curve very closely resebling the symbol for infinity, the infinite loop.
For another inexplicable reason the other animals run around stuck in loops of their own, albeit invisible.
Controls: - Use the mouse to aim and shoot loops at the other animals - M mutes/unmutes the music - S mutes/unmutes sound effects
Tools used (mostly latest version): - Inkscape to draw - Bfxr for sound effects - Unity as the engine - Visual Studio to code.
Everything was created from scratch during the jam. The music was done by Aziraphal , who also provided some valuable feedback. Everything else was done by myself.

Very good work on graphism !
The only negative thing I have to say is that the sound when you get a point is too loud.
Thanks for the kind feedback. I actually wrote some code that would ensure the enemies don't spawn to close, but forgot to take their loopy paths into consideration.
I agree with some of the previous comments, sometimes the animals would spawn too close and I wouldn't even see why I lost, but otherwise it was fun
I kinda feel bad for those animals though 😖
I love the graphics, very simple but also very original I think !
Congrats :)
Either way it was fun. Draw more attention to those spawns, add some power ups, and rapid fire and I would have been stuck in there a bit longer.
Good Job!
I see you kept it simpler and were able to make more out of it instead of having something half-finished. I also love how you combined it thematically with the story of the turtle, but it would have been more fitting if you tried to save other animals or combat environmental waste, but it is funnier this way. a little bit of enemy variety would be nice to have, too.
Otherwise, fun and funny :D Kudos!
Very cruel. I felt guilty for laughing at the story/concept.
Had a bit of fun with this. Nicely done
The art style is really cute. It did feel pretty easy to spam click and hope for the best. Also, if you put your mouse over Loopy, they spin around as it cannot follow the mouse as it is too close. Sometimes animals would spawn super close and make it impossible to get their bodies out of the way as even after they are "looped" they can still kill you. It was a fun little game to play, so well done!!
Also, I beat your highscore! Took a while though!!
I think I may have experienced a bug though (or maybe I missed something) - Some animals would still kill me if touched even while roped.
What you experienced was not a bug but a deliberate feature. You can still fall of your cart if it hits a large enough looped, incapacitated animal. You are supposed to shoot them out of your path, looped or not. And you don't get killed in this game, only incapacitated for a while, the same as the other animals.
A very solid entry which focuses on it's strength, the core gameplay LOOP and the LOOP that LOOPY loops on!
Sound Effects are always something that are hit and miss for me, the shooting effect was alright but the sound for hitting animals was not the most enjoyable to my ears so i had to mute them.
However, your background music fit the game pretty well in my opinion, not too hectic, not too busy.
My only nitpick would be that the RNG can sometimes lead to very easy games and very hard games - my first try an animal spawned 0.5 seconds into my loop and caused me to instantly Game Over.
The round with the highscore however had multiple loops of enemies being on the other side of the screen, so there was that!
Overall, really fun game!
