"George J. Symons. Meteorologist" is a point&click game about surviving alone in a distant weather station. ###

The main character is starting to lose the track of time due to loneliness. You have to check the meteorologic instrumentation and try to put the notebook in order so you will understand what happened during the last couple of days. It won't be easy as every time you open the notebook, you will be teleported in an other time and place!

How to play : ####

  • Click on the objects to interact with them.
  • Drag and drop the item in your inventory on the screen to open them.
  • Modify the date for each page of the notebook to sort it and finish the game.

The game is linked to the LD46 theme as the character has to both keep itself and his memories "alive" and not fall into dementia.

Time was (obviously ) short, the game is working but there's a couple of more fun mechanics that couldn't make it so you can also play it as a walking simulator.

Hope you enjoy it!!

:bug: Bug Fixes :bug: :

  • Notebook opens after the player gets it.
  • Quitting game button was misleading, now it's on "escape".
  • Add numbers in stories in order to complete the notebook and end the game.
  • Add proper feedbacks for Drag&Drop

Very beautiful game, I love the mood, a bit calming and relaxing :)
Even though sometimes it was a bit confusing (but hey, you made all this on your own and in only 3 days), I enjoyed this game!
Good job! :)

The atmosphere of the game is great!

I made a long time before to to understand that you need to drag and drop the picked up items from the left to the screen to use them

The help is very useful in the notebook!

I finally successfully complete it (with a little bit of help ) so I'm happy because the game is pretty hard :scream:

I didn't hear music nor sound effects, not sure if it's a bug or if it's on my end. They would have helped with the atmosphere, but I'm not going to take that into account.

Like @noxalus , I spent considerable time clicking on acquired items to trigger them instead of dragging them. This can be solved by raising the item up on click and casting a light shadow underneath.

Some other minor bugs got in the way of my progression but overall the vision, feel and gameplay are all very nice.

The dark, gloomy but somewhat peaceful atmosphere was very nice. Dear Esther is one of my favourite games and this strongly reminded me of it. Both the feeling of loneliness and the beauty in simple things vibes.

Hi thanks for comments, indeed feedbacks were missing on the drag&drop, thanks for the advices !

I didn't had time to add musics and sounds but it would have been nice ! Maybe for a future version :)

I really like your game! Greate atmosphere, cool idea.
Maybe it will be good to remove numbers in the text records. It will be more harder for player and need some work with text for you. But now you just need to add number of record to first date.
Good luck with next projects!

Fantastic art. I was at first a little miffed at the repetitious gameplay, but it fits really well with the theme of 'I went nuts from repetitious monotony'. Going forwards, I'd try to find a way to mix up the measuring a bit, and give a more tangible sense of progression, so that the player is really incentivized to bash their head against the proverbial wall.

This seems like such a fun concept! Wish I could play it—any plans for a Mac build in the future?

Thanks for the feedbacks ! The first version was without the numbers but it was really hard to sort the pages only with the meteorological indications. But probably with a more worked text it would be easier. Also the Point&Clic mechanics that I had in mind to have less monotony didn't make it at the end, it will be for the next version !

@lunacyecho Thanks for the comment, I've uploaded the mac build on itch.io :)

Love the atmosphere! The UI is super intuitive, the graphics are beautiful. Some ambient sound or even clicking sounds will be great to see in later version. Not sure how directly it fit the theme, and I think a lot more clarity as to the actual goal in-game would have been very helpful! I understood based on the instructions outside the game what the goal was, but wasn't sure how we were supposed to get there at all save for brute forcing it. Perhaps I could've spent more time with the game but, well, too many games to rate haha!

At first I thought I'm going crazy because I can't seem to figure out the time... then I read the story.

I love the "twist". It's simple but effective! Once I understand the story, there isn't much to look forward to, though. I do notice what the monotonous task represents, and the meaninglessness of it. For criticism, I would want more feedback given to the player. For example, when the game simply rejects my input in the note, I was lost at what I did wrong because I followed the units just fine.

Great job on the game nonetheless!

I liked what you managed to put in the game so far, even if you have ideas to add to it. For some reason it reminded me of myst a lot. Gameplay serves the story, and it works well. Art is really nice. I was stuck at the date guessing and could not finish, the game kept on rejecting "31" saying it was already a date I put, when it wasn't. Great work there.
