Fall from Grace is a puzzle platformer. You control Grace, an adventurous lady that is stuck in a giant and peculiar hourglass. You need to find the exit by using the strange properties of the time down here, and also by using the sand falling from the top. But beware, the hourglass turns upside down now and then!

Use the SPACEBAR to jump, the ARROW KEYS to move and RETURN to pause the game.

Fall from Grace has been created during the 47th edition of Ludum Dare under 72 hours.

Interresting puzzler, wish there was button to speed up time/turn hourglass, to elliminate unnecessary waiting

@steambrain I think you are wright. We were too slow to gauge the time correctly... I'll adjust it later, after the reviews. Thanks for your opinion!

Really neat concept! The hourglass mechanic was very cool thematically and has great puzzle potential.

I think the lowest-hanging fruit for improvement would be to speed up some of the transitions a bit; the hourglass flipping took several seconds, which got a bit tiring when you have to watch it several times per level.

The music was nice and fit the rest of the game well.

Nice work for 72 hours!

I really like the art style and the fact that the time actually runs backwards, that's a nice implementation of the theme.

Very polished and cute puzzler! I agree with the previous commenters that there needs to be an option to speed through the hourglass or flip animations, as it can be a bit tedious to wait for.

Otherwise, excellent job! High rating from me. :D

@jeremy-ryan Thanks for your feedback! Yeah, the rotation mechanic feels a bit clunky, even for us. We struggled a bit with this part, ah ah! But the most important was to pull it off in 72h, so, in the end, we take it :)

@rucksack Thank you! We lacked time, but we initially wanted to add more levels to try the concept even more... Too bad the jam lasted only 72 hours!

@firetwoonenine I agree too! We'll add it after the review process :)

I kinda struggled to grasp the concept of the game at first, but it's a pretty interesting mechanic. Great puzzle game overall, great job for 72h!

Maybe make the game window resizeable, because it looks pretty small on large resolutions.

(I also agree with the other comments about flipping the hourglass.)

The idea is very original, at first the mechanic with the player on the opposite side was kind of confusing but after a couple of rounds I got the gist of it. Cute graphics with simplistic controls that make the game more centered on the puzzle mechanics. Good idea and with more polish could be a great full fledged game!

Very original concept. It took a while to register but I eventually got it! The graphics and audio were very nice and polished as well. Good work!

Great job! As stated before, interesting take on the theme and quite unique! Was a bit of a challenge figuring out how everything worked. I think I managed to understand how it all worked by the third level though.

I played the windows version and on the startup screen when it says 'press any key' it doesn't seem like any key actually works, spacebar worked though. I think I also managed to jump outside the hourglass? Not quite sure how but my character did disappear when I jumped towards/into the left side the hourglass wall.

Looks like there are a few games this jam that revolve around repeating your past actions. However, this is the first of I've seen that plays your actions in *reverse*, which is very interesting. The first few levels are a little slow to start, but the later ones do the mechanic justice. The rotating hourglass is a unique way of showing what you did last loop. I'm sure that this is only the tip of the iceberg of possible puzzles, so it would be awesome if you kept developing this.

@GarfSnacks Ah, unfortunately, we still had some glitches we couldn't get rif of. It doesn't surprise me that much, but thanks for reporting them!

@thewustache Thank you very much! It means a lot! We have a nice level generator ready so I think we will make some extra levels after the rating period!

Nice game! The idea of using the loop to complete the puzzles is great, but it turns boring after some time, due to the gameplay style, but still a great game!

Nice one! (and nice itch page, the background is very cute)
I'm glad the sand became a physical part of the puzzle.
Solid. :)
