Shelter the Flame by Frozen Spirit
It's pouring down with rain and you and a beach umbrella are the only things keeping these flames alive and lit. You must blow on the flames to increase their size and cover them with the umbrella to shelter the flame.

I like the concept, the hand drawn graphics are pretty adorable and it is an actual challenge.
It gets a bit frustrating and I would appreciate if controlling umbrella and blowing on flames would not share a hotkey.
The game sounds are kinda loud though.
I think there are several points you could do to make this better...
1. The sound was WAY to loud, I had to turn my speakers way down just to bare with it while playing.
2. The game needed some music to add to the ambient rain sounds, so it doesnt just drone on.
3. Maybe throw in some other things the player can use, even if they are only temporary to help hold off the rain.
(examples are like a cardboard box, that either get soggy over time or catches fire after a time.)
4. Maybe some boasts for the ghost, speed or 1 shot big flames for 3 sec or something might be neat.
5.Lastly maybe a player High Score being displayed in an upper corner so the player can try to beat their best time.
I do agree, the sound was way too loud! I got spooked at the beginning LOL!!
The mechanics were very nice too, although I think it was too hard...
Still, great entry!
I think what you could do is make it so that the player has a limited rate of blowing on the flames (i.e. so they can just hold the button down), and then maybe assign the umbrella to a different button. That way you couldn't just spam the space bar, and the umbrella would be easier to use.
You could also potentially make it so that you can only blow on the flames for a limited amount of time, like a mana-bar style thing. That way the player has to juggle how often they blow on the flames, with which flames they're blowing on, as well as using the umbrella.
Why a ghost needs fire? Why a ghost needs 3 fires? How is he so good at keeping them lit? Not important. I had fun with your game, it was simple yet challenging. I would have liked to see and indicator for which cloud was raining harder other then just more rain drops. Maybe some lightning could come out??? Other than that good job on the game!
Great work!
Nevertheless the game was very nice.
Nice work!
The art is very rough and simple as well, but kinda cute. It's good that you have at least two game play components in there. Just going around bashing space to kindle the flames would be too little. The sound effects were good and helped to convey the mood. Some in-game explanation regarding the controls would've been nice though. I usually don't check the descriptions beforehand and just dive in like I would with any other game, but couldn't play it because I had no idea what was happening. After reading the "manual", it was clearer ;)
Nice entry nontheless, but still rather rough around the edges. It had a hard time keeping me invested for more than 30 seconds. Keep it up!
