Stuck in the Luntic by Harrm
Locked in a maze with no exit. You walk from one corridor into another and it appears you're running circles, despite you are completely sure you can't be. The only way out of this madness is to find something inconstant in this endless loop. Pay attention to your surroundings and good look -- you're gonna need it!

Nice game, I liked graphics and the dark atmesphere in this one. As for gameplay, well, it's cool idea of looped labyrinth, great take on theme. But somethin ghas to be done to make it more fun to play. Different characters wandering in labyrinth is definitely a good step in right direction, but I still wasn't patient enough to figure out how to escape
You could make some hints, so that we get indication if progress is made. It gets too repetitive and probably the player wouldn't finish it. Music and SFX will change the experience completly.

Loved the take on the theme, maybe changing the floor colors to let the player know how far they've gotten would help give some pacing to it? Overall though, nice work.
I'm not really sure what the game is trying to say and how I should interpret the universe I find myself in. But that may just be a part of the point here. I liked the little comments the character made - maybe he could make more comments to introduce me to his world and this way make me, as a player, care more about his plight and fate. Just a though :)
edit: looking at the spoiler, yeah it seems very unlikely that any player going in blind would've been able to finish the game in a reasonable amount of time/patience. Some sort of hint system maybe would've helped there too.
Well, the shadow is not present with every vertices / objects, becareful with that because there are a lot.
There are as well some path that bring us no where, it's a bit confusing because there is nothing to do there. Otherwise well done guys !
The lighting was very nice and the normal mapped ground looked awesome, sometimes corners didn't cast shadows though. The creatures were interesting, weird in a good way and enhanced the atmosphere. What I absolutely loved was the graphic of the crack/hole in the ground. Maybe I'd consider more coherent artstyle though as the character, creatures and the hole didn't really match the flooring. I think you can make handdrawn flooring looking as good with normal maps and lighting.
Overall great idea with impressive graphics that's missing a few bits of work that would make it really fulfilling experience.
I think it would have been more enjoyable if the player were faster and perhaps a map or something to help navigate. It quickly became laborious to move about and try to find where I had been and where to go next, especially in dead silence. I felt like I had experienced almost everything the game had to offer in about 20 seconds. Also, I highly recommend escape key to quit. :)
I think that overall you had a great idea, and that it was a little ambitious for a game jam. My suggestion to improve in future jams is to aim for small, contained and polished. Thanks for participating and sharing your game!
@honey Yes, you are completely right, we planned to add distinguished features to help players navigate, but unfortunately we didn't make it in time, we had only 2 days. Some of the character's quotes actually were meant to give a hint when it teleportes (like 'I feel weird'), but this was done it great haste so apparently didn't work out well. Thanks for advice with different ground and torches, btw, I didn't think of it but now I understand that it would be a great thing to add.
@michael-horst totally agree about the sound, it totally slipped our mind during the jam, but after the deadline I saw how much the sound would add to the atmosphere. Gonna need an SFX designer for the next jam. Also, I suspect you didn't now that you could move faster with Shift key, which is totally my fault as I didn't add a short tutorial on controls to the game. And escape key, oh, I will write that down and put in a frame till the next jam, forget about these things every time.
But I had a great time playing it!
edit: I came here to finish the game, and I believe I was right at the end when I was unable to move when I was caught by the enemy, what a shame hahaha. Again, good job!
I really like how you handle the lights there !
