CircleRC by SwiftVector
You broke your controller, and now you can't steer straight! With only the ability to drive in circles (you could even say you're stuck in a loop *nervous laughter*), you must draw a full circle around objectives to capture them.
This is my first time doing Ludum Dare and I already feel like I learned a lot. Good luck to everyone else!

The game has 14 levels of increasing difficulty, and records your best time on each. Try to get a high score!

CircleRC can be played in the browser, and all the executables can be downloaded from itch.io. If you get performance issues in-browser, please download the executable for your system.
HOW TO PLAY
- Use A and D to switch steering between left and right (You cannot drive straight!)
- Use W to accelerate and S to reverse
- When you drive in a circle, your car will automatically draw a circle underneath
- Draw a complete circle around the flag to win the level
- If there are floating pips in the level, you must collect all of these first be drawing circles around them.
Also if you counter a bug where you get stuck on dying, press ESC and use the restart button in the pause menu.

@frecklebars I'm glad someone appreciates my terrible humour lol
The gameplay reminds me of micro machines, but without the key to move in a straight line.
Nice sound design.
Nice to see a more 'down to earth' take on the theme.
I enjoyed playing it- Good job and thanks for sharing :-)
I really liked that you had to constantly chose between going fast to get a good highscore and going slow so you won't lose control.
It was fun how chaotic it could get when driving fast and messing up the timing just a little bit. Avoiding obstacles by just a few pixels while going full speed makes you feel like a pro (even if its purely because of luck in my case :P )
I played until level 14. Then I broke my car but for some reason the level didn't restart this time.
I couldn't beat your highscore in any level but I will try again later!
Playing your game was a lot of fun! It would be really cool if you tried it out our game as well and told us what you think.
This can be worked around, since by pressing ESC you get a pause menu where you can restart the level manually. I'll probably leave the fix for post-LD support, since it's kind of dubious whether this is something that was broken "while I was finishing up" (as per rules) and it's not game-breaking with the workaround.
tl;dr: **Press ESC and hit restart if you get the no-restart-on-death bug**
I'll update the description later as such.
As for more of this in general though, when I was designing the level select screen you can see I was gunning for about 50 levels, so definitely I'm hoping to expand on this game post-LD 🙂

It was fun to circle around, the primary gameplay **loop** was very good and fun
Also, pretty nice graphics and nice sounds.
It's very good that the "controller" goes down if you are near it, it's also a nice toucht that the foward button on the controller is broken
I enjoyed that Game alot!
Level difficulty increased nicely, physics are nice and it's a really fun mechanic. Great Micro Machines vibe! I loved the added detail of the controller, and the fact that it moved out of your way if you got too close. The only thing I'd like to see is slightly bigger sprites, perhaps with a camera following rather than showing the whole play area. This could easily be fleshed out into a larger game. Love it, well done.
The car is so cute :) I like the small details, flag rises when you collect all the points, controller hides when you drive under it...
Collisions with other cars could be better, I got stuck often (and the collision sound is weird :).
It would be fun with online high scores and ghosts of other players...
And high scores - absolutely! I'm not sure how yet since I haven't done something like that before but putting this on a site like gamejolt or newgrounds with high-score support could be a lot of fun.
