Details from itch.io page:

-- Not really finished. --

Use mouse left clicks to activate cards. Some need to be used in the correct order. Dialog boxes give feedback.

Inspirations came from games like Slay the Spire and Monster Train.

Planned features:

  • Deck grows after every loss and reshuffles before each run
  • Select new cards, duplicate entire deck, or remove a card
  • Multiple lanes of attacker
  • Drag and drop

Known major blockers:

  • Dialog box doesn't block clicking cards
  • Time loop doesn't work

Seriously, this isn't finished or working, but enjoy the strange code. Thank you for taking a look!

I like the Idea! Seems like a good concept to build on post LD. Would like to see cards animation in/out and when moving to get a better understanding of what is happening.

I keep always loosing. That's my loop I'm stuck in. Don't know if it was intended :)
I think the game is going in the right direction, but probably there was not enough time to finish it.

Maaaaan, I think my pc doesn't like Godot games for some reason. Daaaamn, I was really looking forward to it  . I'm building a deckbuilder on the side as well and I KNOW how ambitious it is to build it in 48 hours  .

I might open it up on someone elses pc later just to see it! Good luck and thank you for you vote!

I'm looking forward to the finished build! Would love to see some transitions between clicking and actions happening as well. I wouldn't want to try a deck builder in 48 hours, kudos to you.

I lost the hero in the very begining, and the rest of the game was just reading "the system comments" about the story. Keeps the loop feeling but i got bored quickly. Maybe i did something wrong (i didn't find any deck to draw new cards, perhaps it would have helped). Other than that the idea seems enjoyable if i could use more cards.

PS: the lack of sounds is notorious.

I give you straight 5 because I've made a deck building game this time too. Nice submission!

@aterlamia You're doing it right as far as the game will let you. The original idea for the game was that you'd lose, the deck would get more cards, and you'd play again with it actually dealing out cards. Didn't get that feature implemented in time, unfortunately. Godot is really, really bad at certain types of interactions, and I burned a lot of time with a scrapped drag-and-drop mechanic.
