Help! I'm Broken! by alessia-ip
This is my first Ludum Dare project! It's a very short puzzle game where in you are trying to keep alive/revive a little robot!

Not sure if this is allowed, but I'll add it as a little note here that clicking on the tabletop lets you put items back down!
I definitely wonder if maybe I made the win condition a little too specific. While I don't want to spoil anything for people who might pop by, maybe after the conclusion of the jam I'll post the solution!
The note for clicking the tabletop helps a lot after that feedback from cannedveg. As for me I only wish the turning would be faster. Turning up and down felt weird too. It should feel like turning items left or right. This is very apparent when the item is at an awkward diagonal angle.
As for the theme, it's not so apparent here. It would be if there was a timer involved to fix it before it completely dies.
The game does show potential overall. Would love to see this flourish! Good job~
A timer was definitely something I considered, and that was cut for time (ironically).
If you liked the game, I definitely recommend Assemble with Care, which I realized afterwards uses a sort of similar mechanic!
Greato Jobu!
I think the mouse and keyboard interface is a bit unintuitive. Something that's nice about Assemble With Care is that you play the whole game with a touchscreen.
I think the theme isn't really used in the game. Have you ever tried replacing the save battery in a gameboy cartridge? It's tricky because if the cartridge fully loses power it will erase your save data. You can't just remove the battery, you have to hook up a backup power supply first, then replace it. Something like that would be interesting, where you have to work to keep the robot alive while you're also repairing it.
Overall, it's a nice little experience. I didn't mind trying to play around with the interface a bit to figure out how to repair it properly.
I LOVE your idea so much - never replaced one myself because it's so nerve wracking! That would've been a neat idea, and I totally didn't think about it!!
The rotation was a tiny bit strange-feeling - normally I think one expects that left-right rotation (A and D keys) will be around the axis that's a vertical line top-to-bottom of the screen, rather than the viewer-to-screen line? Hope that makes sense :P
I only had music for the title screen, not sure if that was a bug on my end?
Yeah, once again, short and sweet ^^
