When I saw the cover, I got very attached. When I heard the sounds, I went out of body.

I'm not mad at you, just disappointed :D Lovely game. A bit wonky to steer, but that might be just me.
By the way, I'm impressed by your tileset. I've seen many levels here that are very dull and repetitive annd yours looks very natural, I love it <3

An amazing game. The art is superb, and his talking is out of this world! Very polished!

A very nice little game. I had a lot of fun with it and I think it could definitely be expanded upon.

Great work!

I like the game. The mechanics are well thought out and after accidentally skipping the first instruction, I managed to find out what to do :-) The player movement could be a bit slower and also maybe add a semi transparent square infront of the player so I always know what field I'm facing currently. Good music and sound effects, and cool graphics!

The uncle's voice made me laugh a lot. Good idea letting you plant only some seeds at the beginning, it'd terrible to manage all that stuff without an initial easy phase.

Pressing escape immediately killed the game for me... but other than that it was fun!

I like farming games! Love it! I would say left mouse click for action would be much nicer for the controls, The game itself was really fun and i would play it again!

Sweet looking graphics. At first I thought I would have to manage different crops and that would get tidious. But no, you did everything just right, it was fun to keep track of parasites, water, hoeing in advance, etc. and I enjoyed getting a good ending.

A bit clunky controls, but still a very enjoyable game. It looks really nice, the sounds are hilarious, mechanics are working like a charm. All in all a great result of a game jam :)

I didn't understand, I was speaking to the NPC and he kick me out (to the main menu). I didn't finish my farming :sob:

The game has a nice feel to it even with the clunky controls and I absolutely enjoyed the uncle's voice and dialog.

The writing on this game is excellent! This is a very fun little farm sim and has a great mood to it. I only wish it was a litte longer. Overall, really great job!

Nice game - well done on making a beginning and an end.

Are you into gardening/farming? You should check out some biological pest controls rather than the usual nasty pesticides if so. Better for the garden and better for the environment! :deciduous_tree: :earth_africa:

Some feedback: You probably know already, but nobody has explicitly said it here yet: On text dialogs, when you hit the "..." or "next" button, if the text is still being read out, it should reveal all the text or make it be read faster -- only when the text is in that fully revealed state should it go to the next text page. I missed a page or so of the text because of this. In addition, I feel this .../next action should probably have been triggerable on the space bar too, as everything else in the game was controlled by the keyboard. Alternatively move everything to mouse as other people have said, as long as it's consistent! Hope that helps!

@gwinnell thanks for your extensive feedback. The "text reveal" is a great idea, hadn't thought about that. And I agree with all the other comments, the controls are a bit clunky. Should have used the mouse instead. Gotta keep that in mind for next time :)

Actually I can't manage to keep my irl plants alive, but if I could, I would use something more environmentally friendly as well. Don't think Uncle Dale cares about the environment too much though :)

This was really fun, I like that you tried to keep the controls from getting to clunky (although my fingers are a little stiff after just one playthough!).

The only complaints I had were pretty minor. It took me a bit to realize why I was able to plant more, would have been nice if the tool went away went I ran out of seed or something? Also, it feels like it's hard to see due to the size of the sprites, and most of the screen isn't really used, so I wonder how hard it would be to just double the size of everything? I had a particularly difficult time seeing the pests.
