Loop Train by OddSocks
I found this a tricky theme! Leading up to this LDJAM I had an idea of what I was going to do, which isn't my normal plan of attack... regardless, the pre planned idea didn't fit at all with the theme! So instead I've made a game loosely based on an Adventure Time episode called Dungeon Train. You are stuck in an infinite loop traveling through the train carriages. Each time you progress forwards, the enemies get a little bit harder.

I had a lot of things planned, such as an inventory, changeable armour, lots more scenery etc... but you know... time!
Move: A,D - left and right arrow keys Jump: W - up arrow key Attack: Space
Health potions restore 20% of you health. If you health is full, they will give you some experience.
Experience effects your attack power. And your health increases as you progress through the carriages.
There is a lack of balance... just to warn you!
Hope you enjoy it :D

Yeah, the space key as an attack was an odd choice. Perhaps I should have used ctrl for attack? Hindsight!!
responsive management
The true enemy here are the crates, so hard to destroy ahah
A bit too repetitive tho, but in 72 hours it's still a nice accomplishment
But still, beautiful game man!
Thanks for playing.
Bopping them on the head is a great idea
I’m hoping to make at least one post LD update... I’ll definitely add this in :D
Cheers for having a play on it.
It does get incredibly hard. I left the enemies attack to increase exponentially. That needed fixing.
If I had set the ray cast to only detect what was in front of the player, that would have allowed a more stealthy approach to game play!
My highscore was 351 at the first round. I think that is pretty high (-:
The graphics are spot on, as you may know I have a special place in my heart for these kind of 8-bit styled graphics.
The theme was very much present in this game. Maybe.. a liiitle too much present. The game was fun, but it felt a bit 'too repetitive'. The enimies getting harder and harder is a nice touch to add some chellange
Edit: reading the comments I understand where the sounds come from, that is so cool!
Haha... yeah, there kind of is a kid in the armour! I always try to get the kids to do some of the sound effects.
I had originally planned to have randomly generated levels. But when I had just 2 hours left and still not worked that out I had to compromise!
Thanks for playing :D
Otherwise solid entry :)
Is it not possible to rate you on audio ? You say you made those sound effects yourself
The little white flag waving in the end was so cute :)
What was your pre-plan ? I-m curious :p
