Loopark by Tex Killer

You are asked to modify a RollerCoaster to make it work as expected.
The goal is to add brakes and accelerators to specific parts of the tracks to help the carts stop at the goal of the track, marked in green.
Controls: - Left Click - Place acelerator - Right Click - Place brake
Changelog: - Fixed a bug that prevented the bottom track sections from being selected on some screen resolutions.

The game was developed in Unity3D. I will generate builds for the other platforms but didn't have time for that yet. I'm at work now but I'll try to do that later tonight.
When I manage to upload a Windows version I'll be sure to let you both know. Thank you very much for the interest in our game! :D
@walaber, selecting track sections is really not ideal, but we didn't have time to make it any better. I did just find a bug that affected some screen resolutions and fixed it though, so it might behave a little better now if it was happening to you.
@fronwewq, thanks! Those two levels were all we could do during the Jam, like you probably guessed. We might release a post jam version with more levels later on. :)
- you have to replace everything each time even if it was just a single point of failure
- sometimes wrong part of the track gets selected
- is there an official way to close the game?
I played it without reading the description beforehand, but I still managed to understand what to do and how to place tracks after a minute or two, which is a sign the gameplay was clear. :)
The physics and the sound effects made the experience pretty pleasant: you could really “hear” the cart’s speed on the tracks.
I agree with both fronwewq’s points: It was sometimes a little difficult to guess what the speed of the cart would be at certain positions, and that more levels would have been great. In the two levels, you managed to have a good variety in the level and their solutions. Thus, it isn't really a problem here, but if you want to expand the game with more level, you probably should add a little more variety: multiple carts? other placeable objects? real-time actions while play?
Also, when restarting the level, your tracks are reset. Although it might be useful in some cases, I think it would be better to leave them placed by default. For example, in the second level I already knew were to place the two first tracks, but needed a lot trial-and-error to find the correct last acceleration (I probably had to re-place them 4~5 times).
It probably would have been more difficult (if I guess correctly, the current solution reloads the scene when clicking on reset, so it also resets the placement), but I still think it would make find the solution smoother.
Anyway, great job to you three, and good luck for your next jams!
@gameag: I was on such a rush by the end of the Jam that I just reloaded the scene on the restart button to get it working in time. The selection of track segments was also a little wonky, but I didn't try to improve it and instead focused on finishing the other parts of the game so it would be at least playable. Everything was such a rush, so I guess the official way to close the game for now is pressing Alt+F4, haha
@swynfel: We did plan on having different kinds of track modifications, like this spring thingy (illustrated by Lucas):

We also planned on having different cart heads, like those (also illustrated by Lucas):

This was supposed to be attached to the head cart as a chain of carts, but there was no time left to add it to the game (3D model by Marcos):

Anyway, many ideas, not much time. Maybe we can add everything else in a post jam version!
@peterfonts: Ideally that would be the way to choose the track modification, especially when we build a mobile version, but there was no time to implement it, and since there were only two modifications I just went with left/right mouse buttons. Regarding placing modifications while the cart is moving, that was how it was working at first, but then the game became way too easy since one modification could be removed and used again whenever necessary. The player wouldn't have to plan the right placements beforehand and it would be almost impossible to fail.
fun game, definitely something that could be made into full mobile title with success, with additional levels, mechanics, and more polished graphics
I love the idea. The track looks fine, the controls are easy. Nice job on the train sounds too!
Too bad you couldn't do more levels and polish it a bit more!
Thanks for the game 💕
I hope to see all of you again next time! :D
