The Vendor by Shambles
This was a game for LDJam 47, it's a deduction game where you are put in the shoes of a wandering vendor, you have to guess which items would fit the best in the situation you are presented with, otherwise you are trapped repeating the same day over and over again.

NOTE: since I feel we failed a little with the UX I will leave the following clarifications regarding gameplay:
-for the first level you'll need 4 items, 5 for the second and 6 for the last one. -before you can advance you need to pick those items, how do you know you've picked them? they shade a little when you click on them and get clear if you click them again, meaning you've removed them from your inventory.
I will try to leave some updates throughout the week if work permits it.

UPDATES:
0.1 - Updated some button sizes, fixed bug where the scroll would not reset between levels, so you wouldn't see the text of the new scene
0.2 - Updated selected items shade to be more clear about them being selected, fixed glitch with metal armor and metal gloves in second level.

BTW nice graphics and I really enjoyed shopping but I still am not exactly sure if I bought anything.
Yet, that's still a pretty fun puzzle game!
Never did manage to get past the first person, but I was really enjoying the narrative feedback I would get from the customer for giving them a wrong item. Very clever way to deliver feedback through gameplay.
Outside of the at, had some minor issues with the controls (closing items for the item selection menus didn't work) and the dialogue needed to be scrolled like a touch device with my mouse, but overall nothing crazy.
Great work! Would love to see more like this.
- The close button for drawers doesn't work.
- The close button for the speech bubble is too small.
- The fact you go back to the main menu after trying a solution that doesn't work is confusing, at first I thought I had lost. Though maybe that was intentional.
- The feedback for the fire sword: "You would think fire works with anything, right?" was confusing. I just chose the wand randomly and it worked but I don't know why.
- The Go button for level 2 doesn't work, I think I chose the correct items but it just doesn't do anything. I tried reloading the page too and the problem persisted.

Kudos to the team! The game may seem basic, but it really shows a lot of effort on it. The art style is characteristic, the sounds and music are very fitting, and overall, it has a cohesive idea and execution! I like how there's actual feedback about what you're doing wrong, so you're rarely stuck for long rather than just randomly guessing.
There are a few details when it comes to the inconsistent UI, but otherwise, the game works as its meant to, delivering a solid deduction experience. Well done! :whale:
