A house without a fire

Description

A house without a fire just isn’t the same. It never feels quite right. It never feels alive.

Collect logs from the forest and burn them in your home to keep your house alive. Don't let the fire die. The hotter the fire the faster the heart beats.

Controls:

WASD - Move

Mouse - Look

Left Click - Pick up wood / Drop wood / Burn wood

Escape - Exit

A note from the developer

Thanks for taking a look at this game I made for Ludum Dare 46. This was created in 48 hours from scratch by one guy so pardon the rough edges. I'm a developer by trade so this was a great excuse for me to work on my art skills. I had a lot of fun making this but I unfortunately ran out of time and so this game is clearly unfinished. I encourage you to download it, try it out and let me know what you think.

This was really well done! I love the graphics and sound effects. The little story at first scared me and made me think it was going to have some creepy girl A.I hunting me down in the woods. This was a lot of fun and the idea of going back and forth gathering items was kind of similar to my entry, so I thoroughly enjoyed the concept! The only thing I would consider would be increasing the lighting in the house because it was a little difficult to see what was happening at first. Overall, this was a great little game!

Awesome art! The heart sound is a bit annoying, but I loved the detail of the voice acting!
A UI indicating the state of the fire would have been great.

@azzure - Thanks for the feed back. The heart beat rate is supposed to let you know how the fire is doing, but it's not very obvious. I've added that to the description.

Nicely done, I couldn't finish it, the heart kept going slower u.u Does it have an ending? Anyways, it fits the theme, it is fun. Good job!

Good job! Great atmosphere, I love the concept and the voice-over was nice. I would have loved more story.
