Ha, I love the idea of this soldier making sure to keep his Tamagotchi alive while in the heat of battle. Good game, great work implementing the theme.

Great game! Love the multitasking and the contrast between tamagochi and the monsters

This is so. Amazing. Full marks for humor and art. I am speechless. A bit hard to see the aliens attacking but that's probably the point. More of this. Great entry.

I like the contrasting themes here it works really well, and the artwork is great! It would be nice if there was a bit more visual feedback so I know if i've hit an enemy, but overall nice work!

I've got to say, for a while in the comp I though of making a tamagotchi-like game, but this is on a whole other level. What a fantastic game, even though I got stressed out of my mind hahaha. It took me a second to figure out what I was supposed to do, but once it clicked I had a blast.

I love how there's two interpretations of the theme, keeping him alive in game and in the in-game game.

Nice work!

That's super smart and really well executed ! I loved That I first thought it would be a shooter, then a tamagotchi, then actually both.

Such a great concept and despite being bad at multitasking I have really enjoyed playing this.

Lol this game is cool! Felt good, and it had a nice audio feedback when a monster appears. It has a contrast between a calm game and a tense one, The colors are good, and it accentuates the contrast (the light blue of the tamagochi and the dark red of the world) Nice job!

Very nice graphics and design. The idea is really cool, a very unique take on the survival/horror genere. Flushing the game out could make it a spiritual successor to FNAF.

I considered making a "virtual pet" game but decided against it. This is the second one I've played tonight, but it's definitely more unique than the other or any of my ideas. I love the contrast of the cutesy game with the "real" violent threat. My only complaint is that the interface isn't very intuitive.

Hahah, okay that was a funny blend of genres. I think you got the challenge down well, I could not finish a dave's task or a monster off at once, I had to alternate between one and the other. As feedback, I think I would have liked better sound and effects from shooting to make it sound harder, like a gunshot.

What an absolute ripper of a mashup. The art was a great style (especially your pet) and the combat vs care ratio (and ramping?) was quite nicely tuned.

Sounds worked fine and were focused on the pet which (intentional or not) I felt made it fit even better as it reinforces your main focus is the care of your pet. Loved it

Brilliant. Loved it. Honestly not much I can say that you probably don't know. I would like a chunkier sounding gun with a little more feedback. The monsters were super evil looking so it was a little same to hit them with little "pew"s. I didn't realize that the feeding and playing were minigames the first couple tries, so I think it would be nice if you added that to the tutorial, or at least made it visually clear that you needed to input something extra.

Nice work.

@thedashdude yeah, it's really interesting to see how people take to certain decisions either caused by not enough time, or not enough thinking. Like "wow I spent all these screens setting up the game but not one explanation on the minigames", but your suggestions would work really well, and i like the idea of an optional tutorial or test play of those mini games.

This is absolutely terrific! **:D** I loved it! You blended together two completely different game styles to create something amazing and nailed the humor/mood parts. idk about any criticisms other than maybe the gun could feel a bit more impactful to match the intense mood of the creepy shadow monsters. The graphics and audio were really well done and the gameplay was super engaging. Great job!

I agree with the others that the idea is wondrous, but the consistent pixel art, and especially the spectre design, was my highlight. Wish there was more replayability to it.

I really liked all aspects of this game, great idea and execution, nice graphics, audio and gameplay. My only piece of feedback is that because the background was black & brown and the enemies black sometimes I couldnt immediately spot them on time when they first spawned, I don't know if that's the way it was intended to be it, but it was a bit annoying at times. Despite that, I really liked it!

I never had a tamagochi and didn't get the "gameplay". Now that I now what a hassle they are...

:alien: :gun: cmon Dave i think it's best if you just die.
:alien: :gun: Dave we are being attacked...
:alien: :gun: get the hamburger yourself...
:alien: :gun: yeah it is somewhere up there... I don't know I just press buttons...
:poop: c'omon Dave look what a mess you... nevermind...

:alien: :gun: Dave... Dave... DAVE... :sob: NO DAVE... WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME! DAAAAAVEEEEEE... :sob:

I'm ok  . Good game.

A nice little genre mix! The enemies are kinda hard to spot but otherwise the graphics are really nice and polished and the sound adds to the mood. I think some of the enemies have a bit too much health right now. Pretty challenging and sadly I didn't make it 'til morning. R.I.P Dave.

Holy crap, that has to be the weirdest combination of genres I've ever seen. And it works really well! One thing I wish it would take from games like Virtua Cop was marking the enemies when they appear on screen. Right now it's pretty easy to miss them, despite the audio cues. Other than that, I love the game. The artstyle is great, both sounds and music work well for the game. Well done!

Amazing game, or in reality, amazing games. Having to multi task and basically play two games at once is a really cool concept and was really fun to play through. You did a great job on the graphics, the "Tamagotchi" looked and felt really polished, and having to move it around the screen to fight off the demons was a cool mechanic.

My only suggestion would be some sort of indicator of your health (unless there was one and I missed it?) as some playthroughs I would get hit a few times in the beginning, then forget about it, and a few minutes later I would forget I took a decent amount of damage then get hit again and die.

Overall though, amazing game, especially for the short amount of time it was done in. I really enjoyed playing it
