Please Note: If you experience issues with a black screen when running this game, you can download a non per-pixel transparency version of the game at the link below.

This game was super interesting! I'm glad my per-pixel transparency version is working because that was cool to interact with it on the desktop. I found myself accidentally clicking on icons though. Great job!

I thought this was a neat idea, but for some reason, sometimes My Buddy would go slightly offscreen and be chopped in half. Also, it was missing music, but other than that, it was very cool!

A game that interacts with your desktop?! Somewhat... but still interesting!

* The only problem with this game that it allows you to interact with the desktop. I use an app called Fences to show and hide stuff and not keep mis-clicking on opening new apps on the desktop or accidentally refreshing my browser. A lot of issues could stem from an interactive desktop!
* Okay maybe the game is also not making me click on stuff more. I find the lack of things to interact with quite boring unless you want me to play other games while playing your game!

Other than that it's a very quirky game and I'll give that a pass in my book~ Very cool! Great work~!

This is a really neat idea, unfortunately the transparency didn't work for me on Linux.

Very fluid movement! I also really enjoyed that the game just overlaid my own personal background, a plus for you because I have anime chicks on my background ;) That aside, cute idea, with a ton of potential for expending the enemy/health interactions. As it is, the game is a little slow, both in enemy movement and type of attack. I crave just a little more interaction than click-to-kill. That said, it was a nice leisurely game!

The transparency is a really neat idea and it worked well on my computer. The time between enemies/powerups appearing felt a bit on the slow side so it would be nice to have something more to do with Buddy in the gaps but otherwise great job!

This is such an innovative concept. I was so surprised and amazed when my desktop became the game. It feels like an on-screen augmented reality game as ironic as that sounds. I'm really Buddy couldn't wander onto my side monitors.

Having the game appear to be part of the PC adds so much, and feels super unique for this kind of game. Really loved the graphics as well!

Oh wow, I wish the transparency would have worked on my machine. Unfortunately it didn't, but I did play it for a while nonetheless and I could see the potential. It's cute, it's engaging, and OH WHY didn't I get the transparency! Such a neat implementation and a really interesting take on the theme.

The idea is very unique, and it found the graphics also really good! However, there is a bug that if you click really fast on a power-up you can get it two times, but overall it's excellent!

Very interesting find @vini-explorer. I really appreciate you finding that for me. I'll get a fix it after LD. Cheers!

This game is really innovative and unique. It reminds me of some virtual pets that were popular some years ago. The computer buddy is so cute that I am willing to have a virtual pet like that. This game would be better if the computer and enemie are always on top of screen. Sometimes I tried to kill the enemies with one more click and the window on the layer below covered the game, which may weaken the immersion.

Unfortunately the overlay version didn't work for me, the no PPT version worked tho. I feel like a large part of the charm is the game sitting on your desktop, perhaps whilst you do other things. If it is intended for you to do other things at the same time, it might be cool if you could minimise the stats menu? It'd also be helpful if at least a few achievements started off visible, just to give me something to try to do whilst keeping my pet alive. The art all looked nice, and there was some neat variety to all, with the powerups and different enemies. I can imagine this overlay tech being pretty cool, and the virtual pet element was neat too, congrats!

Love the idea, maybe one of the more interesting games I've played this jam. I'd say the weakest part was the audio, a small reduction in volume or pitch could be a solid improvement to the game. Good work.

I really like the idea. It reminds of an oldschool I used to play when I was young.

Very interesting idea. Having your actual desktop as the playground with only some UI elements of the game was cool. I wished the gameplay was a bit more interactive or so. Anways good job!

Cute game, fun idea. On Mac, the game isn't transparent, but I still got the idea. Very cute and clever.

I think that I would have been much more into it if more happened. Things came on the screen very rarely (every few seconds or so even though destroying them takes only a second or less), and as a result I was just sitting there most of the time. I also don't know if this was intentional or not but I could get like 30-40 upgrades at once before the thing went away, making me overpowered extremely quickly.

Cool game, very unique! The pixel art was nice and it wasn't invasive of my screen space or anything. Nice audio and a good bit of depth. Though, I felt the way you dealt with enemies could be better than just clicking; this could open up lots more for your game! I liked this game overall and the innovative, play it on your desktop idea! Well done overall!
