Pogo Knight by TheWinrawr
You are a ghostly knight with the ability to bounce off almost anything using your sword. To stay alive, you'll have to keep pogo-ing for your life! The goal is to survive as long as you can.
This gimmick may or may not be inspired by a certain popular metroidvania with lots of bugs.

Maybe you could swing the sword more often for intense bullet deflecting?
One of my favorites for sure.
really good music
really good music
The music is good. It fits well, pleasant and loops well.
I think that what you have added a tutorial is a very good thing. It feels a little bit lengthy, but it prepared me well and calmed me down a bit.
Concerning about the gameplay, you know that this mechanic in Hollow Knight is one of most difficult? I just want to say that you’re maybe aiming for hardcore players.
The game plays well and smooth. I like it! I also like how ghosts look (I feel their struggles). The pixel art is simple yet works just fine, the game looks unique.
I have one suggestion that you may want to add a restart button when you lose the game, no need to move back to the main menu.
And from time to time when I strike the ground to jump up I feel like I hit it right, but I missed. Maybe some collision issue or I didn’t practice well I don’t know.
Overall, great entry. Well done!
I had good time playing your game and the music creates awesome atmosphere.
The only small detail suggestion would be that the sound of hitting bullets was a bit too mellow for me. Something harsher, maybe steel-like would be more satisfying for me. But, that's a small personal detail.
You made a great game.
The graphics, music and sound effects were really spot on. The music could be a touch quieter compared the the sfx but that's a minor gripe. They were very fitting to the game and the art style.
Overall very nice 👏
I played Hollow Knight a lot, so I already knew what this mechanic was all about, but in your game I think it's a little more difficult: you have to hit closer to the spikes to be able to pogo on it. So I took a little while to get used to it. But when I finally mastered it, it was a very nice feeling! I felt like a ninja slashing through the bullets.
The difficulty progression was on-point. Removing the spikes as the game goes by is a very clever idea, as well as keeping the ghosts on the ceiling, making us pogo on the bullets, nice game design.
I think my only criticism will be the powerups. In the end, I get used to a certain rythm of pogoing and moving, so changing the gravity and the movespeed kind of broke that rythm and worked more like a debuff, so I ended up slashing through all of them xD.
The music is AWESOME!! It gets you pumped up to keep slashing, it's very good.
The art is beautiful, those pixel art shadows and lights are very well done.
Your game is inspiring. This is the type of game that I want to make: small scope on the mechanics and scenario, a very fun gameplay loop and lots of polishing with art and music.
Amazing game!!

5 stars from me. Made it to ~50 seconds with my best highscore. Probably going to play again eventually
