Interesting game. I'll be honest, I didn't really understand the mechanics -- sometimes I got an X when I tried to upgrade, sometimes I got a check mark, and I couldn't tell if I could upgrade one category multiple times. Finally, the end game screen was bugged. The button to retry was too big and I couldn't see all the text, and the give up button didn't work.

What is the sadness number for? Why is the character so sad when his happiness value is 1000x the sadness value?
I wanted to finish the game but even with 50k happiness per second reaching 5million happiness for getting married was too much. No real challenge. Nice graphics and mood though, although they clash strongly with the gameplay from what I experienced.

@stefanie-leitch Hi! Yes I don't know what happened to the Try Again button :( , but the Give Up was intentional(metaphor).
Thank you for playing!

Really liked the game. Could have the prices be a bit clearer unless randomly failing to buy things is meant to be in there.

Bit tough to understand what to do at the start of the game, maybe write something in your description. Great art and music which sets a nice atmosphere. Good job!

Why didn´t you allow ratings on the Audio? The Soundtrack was amazing. The simplistic Artstyle, especially the character, fits your Topic/Title. Although the Gameplay didn´t catch me that long and there were a few bugs here and there, but overall I like your game and the interpretation of the Theme.

@westmave, I didn't made the soundtrack, that's why.
I have the permission to use it, but I don't think it's right to be rated on something I didn't made.

I love the idea! You really tried to incorporate the theme of depression in every aspect of the game. The music is sad and slow, the background is dull, everything seems off. The game mechanic that the outcome of my actions is uncertain gave me the feeling of not being in control while trying my hardest to be happy. Don't think you failed to capture the feeling of despair because it is certainly there! Well done and keep up the good work!

the music fit really well with the game, i think the main problem is how easy it is, other than that its a cool game.

I love the concept<3 I am really sure this game speaks to other people. It would be awesome if you could a subtle animations on the character that changes the mood or just to the keep the character rocking :D thank you so much for the game hope to see more updates in the future :)

That's a good use a theme. The game is short but doesn't need much to pass its message.

Relevant to the theme, not an happy game of course, but the idle mechanic works quite well. Life gambling, sort of depression russian roulette.

I think I broke it and overflowed the happiness counter! I am not a huge fan of clickers, but this one is short and enjoyable. I like the concept but after a while it feels a little odd to have the guy sitting there with sad music in the background when Happiness outnumbers Sadness 1000:1! I think it would have been fun to see some changes in the character as happiness increased, but maybe that was the point?

All in all, a nice entry that feels very personal.

@fullmontis at first I tried to make more animations, but I was desappointed in my game and I almost didn't published it.
But thanks to the feedback I'm receiving, I'll surelly make another version of this game, fixing all issues and putting more effort in it!
THANK YOU ALL!

Well I acquired about 50 children and a boatload of happiness per second, I think it is safe to say that I kicked depressions ass! Interesting take on the cookie clicker genre

I didn't quite understand some mechanics, but afer those, a really enjoyable game, with an underrated thematic.
