Pretty simple mechanics, but it kinda works.
Even after being pelted to oblivion multiple times, you just want to find out what describes the next baddie :)
Well done on the space people too. They look great.
@coding4rtist
The WASD keys were the last thing I tried to add, but I couldn't get them to work in the last five minutes and had to take them out again. Arrow keys + mouse is not the best combination obviously and I really wanted to have WASD controls in the game, but there were always more important things until the time was gone... well, some of the things probably weren't that important, but drawing every single star manually on the background image somehow felt like a good idea in the first half hour of the event...
There actually is a kind of score system in the game: The eye drone floating above you announces the most successful officer from time to time, so you can at least keep track of how many cases you solved without dying in one playthrough. But that's a very basic score system and an online score board with custom names like you did for your game would be much cooler of course.
The intro is actually a shorter version of a longer track I did first, but there were problems with sudden volume changes on the recording. I tried to do it again but for some reason stopped after a short time. This had the perfect length for an intro track, so I just made it the intro (no time to do another one anyway). The whole soundtrack thing was a very last-minute action and I'm no musicer composer in any way, so I didn't see any praise for the music coming at all, that's a pleasant surprise! :D
The drawing style, the music, the general humor that emerge from the so innocent faces of the aliens. You feel so bad when you kill an innocent haha.
This was highly unexpected, I liked your game so much :)
I found myself laughing out loud many times at the sheer absurdity of the situation. My confusion combined with the bloodthirsty impatience of the alien populace combined with the manic soundtrack are a great mix for comedy.
Congratulations !
Great game!
Thanks for submitting your game!
Super sorry we had some technical difficulties during this. :slight_frown: I like the premise of this one, but unfortunately there were a couple of things I had difficulty with when trying to find the criminals...
I love the personalities and unique looks of all these characters, though! This is a surprising amount of content to be put out by just one person, awesome job here!
@coleslaughter The game is meant to be a bit chaotic and hectic, but I guess the problem is that it immediately starts this way and people are already trying to kill you while you're still trying to figure out what you're supposed to do. I didn't have much time for balancing, so this is definitely a problem.
I'm a bit shocked about the CPU usage problem, didn't mean to crash any live streams! :D I can't reproduce it yet on my computer, but I'll keep looking into it.
