The Liberator

Why describe a game that describes itself? Or better yet, why try to describe something indescribable?

"Could you be any more pretentious" - Someone who clearly hasn't tried The Liberator

You are The Liberator

Your job: save everything (yes, everything!) from death! If anything nearby dies, you die too!

Post-Jam Changes

  • Increased robo-cow's explosion detection radius
  • UFO now lands after a more reasonable amount of time
  • Increased grabbing range
  • Mr McStabby is now intentionally invisible until you find his sweetheart
  • Moved McStabby so he isn't impossible to find (once he's visible, of course)

If you're wondering what that all was, you clearly haven't tried The Liberator!

What are you waiting for? An invitation? Well then, here's your invitation: Go play The Liberator!

The intro's pretty funny, and even though I didn't know what to do, amazingly I still found it fun. It would still be better if you added some more interaction. After the cow being abducted by a UFO I was just confused, and every time I was a certain distance away from the guy with the sword near the temple, the player would just die. The art is great, music is good!

However, I don't really see any correlation to the theme... What am I supposed to keep alive?

@brokenvectors The point of the game was to keep everything alive because if anything nearby dies you die, but I didn't have time to add the dialogue system, so it didn't come across very clearly. It was also originally going to be a comedy game (hence the funny intro), but the lack of dialogue caused the same problem :/

A little confused about the goal, but I loved the introduction! Good job! :D

Great intro! A bit confused at first and I think the play area wasn't confined in any way, so I just got lost by running in one direction for some time. Sometimes the bad stuff happened outside of the screen so it looked like I died for no apparent reason. Otherwise it was fun to play and the music helped to elevate the game a lot.

The intro was pretty funny. Game was confusing at first but I managed to save the cow, unplugged the speaker (don't know if the tentacles cause anything bad, also the unplugging persists across playthroughs), saved the child (or rather just put it in the cage) and saved the bamboo guy. Don't know if there was anything else.
Since the gameplay just consists of walking around and clunkily moving things around it's not that fun; keeping the humorous vibe from the intro would've been good.

@cephalo Thanks for letting me know! I had the little box that says "hide this build" on so nobody could download the Mac version. You should be able to now.

I liked the intro, i would have wished that the art was more asian inspired, like the audio and intro. Some character like the one with the knives tend to get stuck in walls and everything. I managed to fight the boss and win (i think, since i returned to the main menu). It was a good idea that the character had to prevent everything from dying.

I like the intro and games humour. I do not understand much of the gameplay, but I had some fun moving things around to see what would happened.

Best intro ever XD

Thing i would change, make the player able to grab everything at the same time, it would be pretty funny with everything following him hahhaha The gameplay feels a bit lost but grabing stuff and dealing with things separetly
