Lights Out on Pluto by cad
You wake up in the mess hall, with a wicked headache and some very dead crewmates. The Emergency light system must have taken a hit in the chaos, because the lights are switching on and off in some sort of loop. Not good. For you, or that pesky headache. To top it all off, somewhere, lurking in the shadows, is the creature that started all of this mess. Your only chance to survive, is to search the corpses of your fallen friends for anything that can even the odds.
Win Conditions:
1. Torch the Creature by burning it 3 times with the flamethrower. *(NOTE Creature does not take damage while fleeing after hit)
2. Use the switch in the helm to seal off the airlock doors, then the switch right outside the airlock to blast it into space.
CONTROLS - Movement: WASD (keyboard), left stick (controller) - Sprint: Shift (keyboard), left trigger (controller) - Interact: E (keyboard) X, (controller) - Fire Flamethrower: left click (keyboard), right trigger (controller) - Exit Game: good ol' alt+f4
NOTE: A game-breaking fix was added to this game that disabled the usage of SteamVR on 2020-10-07.

I'm a sucker for 3D graphics, so this game gets a win for that in my book. The spaceman looked cool, the level design and decoration was well made, the only things that didn't seem to work right was the flamethrower and its particle effect. Occasionally either one or both wouldn't render/show during gameplay. Made it hard to tell if I hit the beast or not until it ran away.
The sound design was simple but effective in establishing the terror of knowing your light is going out and the beast is still somewhere in there. Made me get cautious some times by only walking or standing still when I saw it in a room nearby. In the small room in the upper right it still seemed to get me no matter where I stood. Guess I couldn't hide from it well in there.
The second victory condition was not wholly clear; I thought I found airlock switches at times, but couldn't seem to activate them when nearby. Maybe they were the wrong object...
One way or another, this was an awesome little experience and another great submission in LD47!
My biggest complaint is probably the fact that it seemed like you can't pull airlock switches once you have a flamethrower. I haven't really investigated if this is intentional or a bug.
I also got the flamethrower to pick up as an invisible object once, not sure how it happened.
I liked the beast AI and how you can successfully outrun it depending on how you approach the environments, and I once accidentally doomed myself by pulling the airlock helm switch and getting cornered right where the doors seal off.
I do have one major bug report, however. Your game is launching SteamVR when I boot it up on my system. This is a default behavior to my knowledge and a gripe I have with a lot of Unreal Engine 4 games. If possible, a patch to remove SteamVR functionality would be greatly appreciated.
Good work!
Oh and LOVED the win/lose animations/cutscenes. Very nice style.
I hate scary games and this was a pretty scary :D So you did a good job. I can see it with some changes on a full game
