The Jump is too jarring It needs a bit of dampening.
But Otherwise good game

I won! Need more levels... ;)

Player controls and physics could be improved.

But still a very playable game.

I managed to beat the game, it was really fun!

I really liked the art, the animations for the enemy were quite nice. The background also sets a really good atmosphere for the game.

I agree with the others that the jump is a little jarring - I think that is partially due to the camera following the players exact movements. If you relax the camera on the y axis a bit I think it would help the feel a lot more.

In terms of level design, I think either the player jump could be tuned to be higher or the platforms could be placed lower. Right now, the player can barely reach the platforms and it takes me multiple tries to get on one, giving the player a bit more breathing room here would help a lot in my opinion.

Overall, I thought it was quite well put together, the music was really nice too. Great work!

Thanks for All the input guys - I agree I struggled with the jump and the camera. If I could go back I would focus on that. Platformers are new to me. But Thanks for the input on the art, I really enjoyed that for this game. I would loved to have parallaxed the background but no joy. Thanks for playing though.

So sharp jump, good luck and gain experience (as I do). By the way, it’s funny that we started with 45ld and our first games - 3d, and the second - 2D

I loved the main character, the music is good and entertaining ! I had a little trouble with the camera and the jumps, but you can easily play with it

@miradore Thank you :) I'm glad it was fun and yeah It's not a life altering challange but became an "I'll get around to it".

Pretty funny music, and art is fun to look at. I like that it jumps right into action - no long tutorial. Good job!

Thanks @binroot. We've all been playing platformers for years so I took a lesson from Mario. Enemy straight away, either it kills you or you learn to jump. :stuck_out_tongue:

The concept of the game felt on point and stellar. A really good job. Really pleased to see some platformers in this jam as I couldn't find too many.

My concerns: The game's player physics is weird and the art of the player felt static (this does need time, but I wanted to point it out anyway)

I kept jumping on the key in the end and gained infinite points! Nice art & music! It was super loud, though. Good job!

Good work! I felt like it was a bit janky when the camera follows the player like that when you jump, but that can only be me. I like the ghoul design and over all it was very nice, keep on goin!

Good game but i don't like this strange jumping across platform and very shaking camera.

I'd have liked to have a tutorial or something that taught me how to do stuff. Also, it was a bit annoying that the camera followed you when jumping. An advice: never attach the camera as a children of the player :P

Cool BGM, I'm sure people have given you plenty of feedback about the camera and physics already so I'll just say that I like the character art.

@cheesepencil Why yes, quite a few have, but thank you for enjoying the art :)

There's a little thing that bothered me : the lack of death animation and instant restart of the music loop makes for a somewhat confusing death, and also controls and camera but others have talked about that. Outside of these, good little game ^^.

A pretty fun game overall. I was a big fan of the art and the music. The platforming was a little unpolished, but the basic formula is always fun. I am gonna agree with @masaru that the game over sequence is very sudden, but I can understand those problems given the time limit. Pretty good game overall, and I am very happy to push you over 20 ratings!
