VITAMAN

Keep the human body alive in this twin-stick, shooting adventure to defeat the dreaded Rhinovirus! VITAMAN, was created for Ludum Dare #46, "Keep It Alive." All of the art and audio used are completely original works. I would love to hear your feedback on the music, and of course, let me know if you manage to clear the game!

Nice work! Would be nice to have some more power-ups--maybe in a future version?

@merrak, thank you for the feedback! I would like to continue working on it after the jam. I'll let you know when more content is available if you like!

@Judges, I uploaded a new version that fixed the screen in place when playing with arrow keys on kongregate.

Realy liked the game! only most of the time the character didn't shoot when I pressed the arrow keys. Could it bee that I pressed them to quickly? Like the art also, felt realy smooth :)

Nice game, I really liked the music, especially the "steamy" hi-hat sound that panned left and right was pretty satisfying!

Liked the game, I wish we had a bit of power ups to spice up the gameplay, but it was a fun game to play  Love the art here, the feedback was good too.

Hey, great job on this, especially your first "publicly released" game! Controls felt great, level difficulty felt great. A little explosion or something when an enemy got hit would be nice to see. Well done overall!

Solid twin stick-shooter-like entry. It was quite obvious which game in the genre was your primary inspiration ;-) The controls were very responsive and totally matched the setting. Only major bug I encountered was enemies (especially blue cloning ones) getting stuck in the walls unable to attack me. Beyound that, nice submission!

Nice little shooter. The controls fit very well and felt good to play. The music was great. I appreciated the different enemies but it might be best if the hero can change too. Maybe some kind of speed or weapon upgrade? This is a good entry!

Solid entry! I didn't encounter any bugs. The art style was coherent and I liked the fleshy look of the tilemaps. Enemy variation was a little thin, but I guess that's what we all had to deal with :) I love how you took your time to implement hit feedback to increase player satisfaction when killing viruses. There's nothing worse in a twin stick shooter than missing hit feedback. The core conept reminded me of "The Binding of Isaac", which I do like a lot. The main issue with your game is the game play speed and the lack of upgrades. The game feels rather slow and each room takes too long to clear. Weapon damage is rather low, so it takes some time to clear all viruses. It isn't even particular difficult, it just takes patience, which will in return lead to boredom rather quickly. When there wasn't really any breaking changes in room 3, I stopped playing, since I felt, I already saw everything the game had to offer.

Nice entry non the less!

Music is nice and non trivial in a good meaning  . Maybe the gameplay sounds could be some other than currently in game - not sure that they are consistent and juicy in game now. Good challenging came, classic game mechanics, maybe the shooting in 4 directions using arrow keys was a little bit unusual and new to me - I think it adds some challenge and fun to game feel.

Graphics is simple but bright and fun, all enemies and items are recognizable and clear to player, that's good. Good level desing and difficulty progression. Overall this is very good LD submission. Keep it up!

I think I've caught a bug once when my character got stuck in North wall and was able only slide along it but not move on the area.. but after some time all was fixed itself in game.

A simple and pretty fun little top-down shooting game. I love both the music and the visual style. Overall a okay little jam game.
