An office task simulator with an online leader board where you can compete to finish more menial tasks than anyone else in endless loop of arbitrary employee performance ranking!

Chicken Castle's 2nd ever submission to Ludam Dare, and the first submission to the Compo category.

Theme: 'Stuck in a Loop'

Ever feel like you're just doing the same thing over and over again? Every day feel like a repeat of the last? Yet somehow each new day brings a new sense of chaos and disorder. This is an office simulation game where you will find yourself performing day to day tasks as a middle tier employee. Try to manage the stresses of a chaotic workplace whilst maintaining personal health and business KPIs.

How to play

Arrow or WASD keys to move. Stand next to points of interest to interact with them.

Follow the directions on screen to perform various tasks around the office.

The longer you spend performing tasks, the more 'Focus' you will generate. 'Focus' multiplies your KPI score.

There are some factors that cause you to lose focus, such as context switching, and being hungry or thirsty. Manage your distractions to meet your KPIs!

Your energy will decrease throughout the day. Try to get as much work done as possible before you get too tired to work. Don't worry if you run out of energy though, the daily grind never ends!

Good job conveying a monotonous feeling with the soundtrack, and having the employees be vegetables was a clever choice. At first I thought "the plants are dying" was very serious because everyone is a plant.

Having the CEO event helped me find the water coolers, because at the beginning I did not understand why the fridge and food station only helped hunger, so I like the level layout.

I still don't know how to end the day without passing out though.

When I started the compo, my wife was playing Destiny. She said I should make a game about grind. I'm glad you did. (It's a bit of a throwback, but you could have called the KPIs TPS reports). I like that you're broccoli.

Humorous game!! Definitely feels like a grind. A bit confusing the first time you play it. But once you know where the water cooler, you start to know your way around (though I'm not very good at it myself).

Nice catching on the theme! Really good choice on level design, however, that stupid onion keeps me blocked 2 or 3 times. You where sucessful in many aspects of this game, but one I should congratulate you is the "leaderboards" as "employees of the month" (I assume that you're not the first one, it will be really unfair! haha)

For the post L.D i suggest that you change the colliders to be more friendly with the environment, and I don't know the others, but I can't fix the "overheating servers" at all

Anyways, a really good game you have there!

I just love your take on the theme.
Corporate life caricatures always get me!
I also love how everything the player does is in sync with the music.

It is a humorous and creative game, I especially like the vegetable people. The controls is a little floaty though, I find myself sliding pass the fridge and water cooler many times. Also, I got blocked by one of the colleagues in the meeting room, making me lose points, screw that guy, lol.

@thecakeconsortium ahaha, yeah so I actually noticed that you could get blocked in the room by NPC's and at first I was thinking I've got to fix that... but then I thought you know what, I've absolutely been held back in meetings by people talking about random things to me and making me late to other things.. i'm leaving it in :D :P

Really nice idea! I think I got a little bug because my arrows were flashing around and then didn't show at all. But this actually kept me playing just to know where my desk was and to understand which veggie Dave was!

Spent the day on the clock by munching on their fridge and getting into the flow of watering plants 10/10. Really liked the idea for the game! The whole game felt extremely clean and polished.

Cool take on the theme, and funny art style. I found it in the beginning a bit hard to see where the arrow went especially with the server room. But i got better at it in the end

Funny game, it's really fit the theme! Liked how the music is monotonous and repetitive as the gameplay.

This is a great game!

I loved the sound track.
I loved that the other folk just kept pushing you aside
I loved the chat I had with Dave
I would love to buy a new printer since that seems to break quite a lot. ;-)

Very well done! Thank you for the game

Another day another dollar. Lol. Nice take on the theme. Fetch Dave. Me and all the homies hate Dave. Simple and quick to pick up and feels hectic enough to be sure. Really enjoyed the characters art too.

Quite humorous game. Music is nice, although a bit repetitive. The leaderboard is a nice addition, it makes the game competitive.
The grind is strong in this one. :D

You had me with "you find an empty desk and go to sleep" :D

The grind feels very real! The tasks are quite diverse though and I always felt like I got something to do. The environment also looks very pretty and the concepts of drinking and eating were immediately clear! I also love the other characters moving about the room (and them being veggies looks nice :D) - it feels very much alive!

I really dig this game! Feels very complete and polished as well and it's even got the leaderboard going for it, NICE!

Neat.
There are a few tasks that I didn't understand how to do, like, who's Dave.
But overall, I like the concept.

Well done for this entry
Cheers.

I feel ever so slightly stalked, and a little bit as if someone's just made a biographical game about me. Which is weird, but not unpleasant. Game is very good indeed, and well done on getting it this polished in a weekend.

Very fun to play! Only complain I have is with the colleague that pushed me into the table at the meeting room, and I was stuck there for like almost a hour. Nice entry! Well done!

A simple and fun game. Interpretation of the topic is quite interesting. I like the mechanics of running out of time to be able to do the tasks. The task indicator is very well done, although I believe it would be better viewed if it was not "blinking", but that is just a detail. I like the graphics and the sound too. The controls are simple and functional. The game experience is interesting. Congratulations.
