You're a Baby Fire :fire: living in a forest with your Mama Fire :fire:. All is well until suddenly, woodland creatures come and start trying to extinguish you and your Mama!

Mama can't move, you gotta keep her alive! Use the creature's branches as tinder for your Mama. You can also move and spread her around to different fire pits to get different upgrades! But beware, if a fire pit goes out, you'll lose that upgrade.

See how long you can last!

Controls: Mouse - Aim

LMB - Shoot

WASD - Move

Space - Grab/Place Mama Fire

Q - Toggle branch shot and bullet shot

E - Toggle weapon

P - Pause

4/21 Bugfixes: As tempting as it was, there are NO balance changes are per the rules. Clipping on branch pickup SFX in WebGL, respawning with zero HP, breaking the game by grabbing from empty fire pit, enemy bullets colliding with enemies, and the volume adjustment bar were fixed post-deadline

Maybe it's just me but at first, I found the "two mode" thingy a bit odd to get used to. But passed this, it's actually a really fun game, graphics are simple but on point and music mix in pretty well with the rushing gameplay.

@abb1x you can turn down the volume of the music and sfx in the pause menu or main menu <3

The graphics are really cute! The game was a bit more violent than what I was expecting based on the graphics but it was fun to play. I think with more types of enemies it could easily be a nice mobile game : )

The music was great! I also loved that the main character's "gun" was a matchstick - That was a really nice touch!

I ended up in a weird situation near the end of the game where I was surrounded by enemies and couldn't really move, but also was killing enemies quickly enough that I could keep refueling the fire and not die. I also kept teleporting back to a momfire that I was trying to travel away from at seemingly random intervals - I couldn't figure out what was triggering this.

Overall though, I had fun playing! The soundtrack was awesome, the gameplay was solid, and the graphics had a lot of cute charm to them!

I could see getting pretty sucked into it. Unfortunately on my laptop I can only use the keyboard or my trackpad, not both at the same time, so that added an extra challenge. But overall this was really well done, nice work!

very well executed and polished. the graphics and cute and fun. the mechanics work well and it was easy to jump in, be engaged and right away start having fun with the game. I don't usually like shooter games, but the theme made it fun instead of gory, kind of like the thing Nintendo does to make things family friendly and garner a broader group of players. I think you should definitely continue to work on this and try to get in green lighted on Steam.

Good to see someone else had a very similar idea to me haha, top down shooters ftw! I loved this game though! Very fun and the gimmick is great. I do wish the difficulty curve was a bit slower, I found myself never being able to get to the rail gun and normally dying around the 150 points mark. Overall, great work!

Really cool game. I love the music!
The only issue I had was the balance because I dealt not enough damage to kill these hedgehog things.
Solid entry, cheers ;)

This is really cool! The game feels super polished with nice graphics and atmosphere. The music was also good but didn't really suit the overall aesthetic of the game. I really liked the mechanic of having two different firing modes you need switch between!

Fun little firestarter. The music and SFX were excellent and enjoyable, but felt out of place thematically (more of a space shooter than a woodsy-campy, playing with fire feeling). Catchy as heck though!

The gameplay was smart and strong; the horde definitely grows to an uncontrollable level too quickly, not allowing for the player to prepare upgrades fast enough to combat the difficulty increase. This does have the effect of creating a good panicky, unprepared for the apocalypse feeling, though, and who doesn't like a little "all hope is lost" feeling now and then?

The art is pleasant and CLEAR. Even in the chaotic bits I could tell what was happening.

Loved the push and pull of fighting versus feeding.

Very challenging but I liked it a lot! I found the gameplay to be quite confusing at first, but things started to make more sense as I played. I think a more interactive tutorial would be a solid addition. The switching between branches and fire was confusing at first, but is actually a pretty cool mechanic once I understood it. Overall, very solid game!

@koolruz thanks for playing! the teleporting is actually because the baby fire has its own health and if it dies, it respawns at a mama fire by stealing some fire. Unfortunately, time ran out so we didn't get to represent the health in anyway, so I bet it's confusing without that context.

Very cool! Gonna come back to this again later! I feel like part of the learning curve is figuring out which fires/upgrades to get.

> You’re a Baby Fire fire living in a forest with your Mama Fire fire

That sold me immediatelly.
The only thing is that I got stuck surrounded. But overall, I liked it!

Wow it's sop cute! Maybe I'm not so good at it, but imho it really needs to be a little more balanced. I wasn't able to lit the third bonfire, nor protect 2 bonfire for long.

Lovely graphics, catchy music, juicy sound effects and a fun gameplay! Only thing this game needs is a bit of balancing and difficulty curve tweaking. (Might be nice if difficulty increased as the player created more mama fires)
