Golden Ratio by eusekerci

made by eusekerci for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

LD47_003.gif Golden Ratio is a visual jam. I inspired by this gif: https://bit.ly/3ivTk99

It's infinite, arcade, and you don't need to beat anything except your last score.

Enjoy!

The gameplay isn't much, but this looks incredibly cool. Also, this is some sweet music.

I had no idea what was going on so couldn't really 'play'

The visuals had me tripping to so I think goal achieved? :-)

Thank you for the game!

I totally agree that it's not playable at this stage. If you cannot play like me, well, watching is also fun :)

Great use of the theme, love how it loops. The gameplay is very confusing but i assume that's the point because its a "visual jam".

Yooo this is really trippy lol! This is taking the theme to the next level! while there is no real goal it's really fun to watch, and gives me some ideas to steal which I could probably use in my future apps or games.

You nailed the theme, it's a nice reinvention of breakout and it's very fun too watch even without playing.

I can't say that I *entirely* understand what's going on here, but it definitely looks cool. The fact that the game is happening in multiple places at once in different scales is really trippy. And that music is dope :ok_hand:

Very cool interpretation of the theme. It looks ***mesmerising***, I like it :) With better gameplay it could be great.

Music with a no for me, but the gameplay and the idea is so cool I had to keep on playing. I'm impressed by the innovative take on the theme. Is it endless? Thought the game would stop at the end of the track but it didn't... Could be great to add some increasing difficulty.

Well, that was trippy !
Like you said, it's more a visual experience than a game, and it's rather enjoyable.
I took a while to understand what was going on, but I see potential !

I bet you can take this farther than the jam, by polishing the controls and adding a little more feedback on what happens to the ball, it can be a nice difficult "break-out" type game ! Good job !

It's certainly an unique game experience. Very original interpretation of the theme, congratulations!

Fun to play something so simple but also completely different. Great work on a really innovative idea. Once I figured out what was going on I found it a bit challenging to really influence what was happening: it was very hard to keep the ball in the main square where you could score points, and there wasn't much to do in the other squares.

Would be interested to see this developed with more variation and significance given to the other squares.

A fun little visual treat, I like the selection of music, and the art was pretty neat! Moving things around is fun, but letting go of control and just watching it go on was something of it's own!

Not much of a challenging game (we can't loose I presume), but a toy to pass time and I like it!

This is really nice to look at. Playing a different game in each of the squares is a cool idea. I found the existence of the score to be a bit weird though: Since I can't fail and the game does not seem to be made with playing to get a great score in mind but rather just for toying around with it and looking at it, why was there a score at all? But that isn't a huge problem. Great job!
