Bear Naked Polar Party by stuckne1

[raw]
made by stuckne1 for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Figure out to keep the party alive by mixing things up!

Note that the crowd doesn't want to see the same thing over and over.

Nice theme adherence, but it should be some kind of tutorial or description, because I ended up clicking on random buttons. Graphics look like placeholders and should be replaced (exception is that cute dancing bear).

Really fun idea, but I didn't really get how I was supposed to keep the party going. My party died after around 7 or 8 hours every time. A tutorial would have been great!

Neat idea, and great use of sound, though I had a difficult time figuring out what everything did on the mixer (though I'm not an audio person). Maybe add some more info on the UI, perhaps next to the controls or a tooltip on hover?

@mirsakka and @kostasvs yea this might need some balancing and a little more clarity. Thanks!

@ctrble Yea, sounds like that part needs some clarification for sure. Thanks!

Very clever spin on the theme. It's a bit confusing how everything you can do affects the hype meter, but it's fun to just see what each action does visually and audibly.

@tatetate Thanks! Yea I'll try to make it less confusing.

As others have said, clever spin on the theme. Would like more in-game instruction on how things affect the hype meter, an indicator for when I'm at risk of the hype meter dropping maybe. Also not sure if it was just my machine but the web version had a lot of lag when the smoke machine was on.

Fun idea still, I enjoyed it :)

Interesting game, but could not really understand how to keep the party going. Great job!

Fresh take on the theme! I was really bad at first, and it took me a few tries to figure out what I could interact with on the mixer. Maybe some sort of highlight/glow fx would help guide the player in the beginning! I eventually figured it out, and I felt like my bear DJ-ing skills had peaked when someone fainted on the dance floor. It went downhill from there, haha. Cute game, and really effective use of music and sound design!

Fun. Good audio and graphics. The gameplay is a little bit hard and random.

Hi I just played your game and it was hilarious! I love the dancing polar bears lol. It took me a few tries to get a longer party than lord of the rings. I did find your game rather challenging, I think adding some sort of visible cooldown meter could be helpful to understand what might be fresh - though I understand it would be to do that and maintain the challenge of your game.

You game really excels in the details though! You have great humor and I love all the different effects you can do! It was really fun experimenting with the polar bear party! Congrats on submitting!
