Treasure Hunt by cnewt

[raw]
made by cnewt for Ludum Dare 47 (COMPO)

A clever puzzle game about finding treasures. The instructions that you give the explorer loops. Note: The game stops at level 5 (the level with flowers). For some reason the "you win" screen doesn't show up.

I like that it's a twist on the robot programming-esque game where there are more environment factors. Transition between levels can be faster to improve the pacing. Also since the only commands are the directions, it'd make the control easier to allow input through keyboard.

Interesting little puzzle game. I liked it. Would be really cool to see this fleshed out more into a full game.

Well done! I enjoyed the challenge of trying to figure out how a set of moves would work the second time they were repeated. There's a lot more depth to the puzzles between the repetition of the commands and the hazards than I was expecting when I saw the first level!

Really enjoyed playing this one. Was a nice amount of depth there. I'm going to echo MayChant a bit and say that it would have been nice to have been able to enter the commands through the keyboard

A good programming puzzle game.

However, if the rhythm is faster, it gonna be better.

Artistically quite poor and the idea is a bit generic.

I think this is a great take on the genre of "programming games", but one thing that annoyed me a bit was that I had to redo the whole set of instructions every time I failed. Otherwise very good, it made me think!

Really clever idea, great use of theme. I think you could make some very tricky levels with this design.

I liked it a lot, I don't play that kind of puzzle often. The pixel art is nice and the different obstacles are well made. I would give the option to play the loop automatic or step by step to increase the speed a little.

Overall well made.

I think the last level one the one with the flowers? There game just stopped after the chest. I really like the mechanic, and I wish there was more! The flowers could make for some really cool puzzles! Great work on the art and music as well!

I had fun! This is a great take on common programming game. After beating the level with the flowers I think that's it 'cause it never went to another level after that. I would love to see more puzzles!

Nice twist on default programming games like that with non working commands and special terrain)
a run button in ui would be nice too)
Sound and graphics work fine together.

What a fun and innovative game mechanic! The art worked together and the music was relaxing. Also, it was easy to get what to do. ^^
I wish you good luck and hope to see you in the next jam, thank you!

A good puzzle game. It would be nice to have more levels, but that's the fate of all puzzle games in ludum dare, really.

If you would decide to continue working on this, I'd say the main things that are needed are of course more levels, and maybe better editing of the move sequence. Maybe allow quick entering the moves using the arrow keys, and keep the previous sequence when restarting.
