Gold Mine and Infamy is a top-down shooter where you play as a miner with a slight infestation problem! Cobweb laying spiders, acid spitting scorpions and even undead zombified miners caught wind of your ever increasing gold pile, and they want to steal it! Protect it at all cost using your trusty boomstick and a couple of explosive barrels!

I really like the aesthetic and had fun playing, though I ended up getting stuck in the top left causing me to lose - but hey it's a game jam, bugs are inevitable! The art is pleasing and the shooting itself is fun. If I had to make suggestions, holding click to fire would be a good one because it gets a little tiring spamming left-click after a while.

Overall nice work!

I love the pixel art and audio. I like how it picks up speed. I think the explosions could be a bit bigger, I found that I shot them on accident consistently. When I tried to use them, they didn't do very much. Occasionally I was able to take out a few with one. I like the variety of enemies. The screenshake was a nice effect. Great job!

I like the concept, but it can be a little frustrating not being able to shoot from certain angles

Good game, my highscore is 7086. It would be nice to speed up or slow down on the tracks and also halfway through I got somehow stuck in the top right corner.

I had a lot of fun playing it. I thought the concept was really cool, and I liked the graphics and sound effects. I think the difficulty increase would be better if player got faster instead of there being more enemies.

Nice job!

The simplicity and snapiness of the gameplay makes you immersed instantly.
The graphics and sound effect look good. The level design helps the mechanic.

I quit around 3000, I felt the difficulty was not enough and stopped increasing?
I also had a bug where the cart got stuck somewhere without spider web, around top right corner.
Why do scorpions have such a huge and weird hurtbox?

Thanks for the game 💕

Great Game! I liked the graphics and the gameplay.

Background Music would have made it even better.

The only problem I had was, that my cart got stuck:

It was actually a bit helpful to get stuck on a spiderweb so that I could shoot at everything in an area. I kept wishing for a continuous bullet stream instead of having to click as fast as I could though. Even if it came as a powerup that sometimes showed up or something it would be cool. I do love the reverse tower defense going on though.

It's more helpful to actually get stuck on a web than moving around haha. nevertheless great job.

Game with interesting concept. I think of a complete version with more types of maps, it would be really cool. The experience in general was very pleasant, although I had a bug that literally caused me to get stuck on a certain part of the trail (I think the explosion of something caused this). In a way this bug ended up not being "bad", since it was easier for me to aim, but it certainly ended up breaking the mechanics a little. Anyway, your project is very good and promising. Congratulations

Great concept and fun gameplay! I kinda wish that the gun would auto shoot when the player holds down left click but other than that nice work!

Interesting concept. Is it possible to loose or die in any way? It seems like the score is only limited by how long you are willing to keep playing for. If there was some form of loosing condition or something and maybe multiple maps this could definitely become a good game. Also as was said above, having to keep hitting the button to keep firing was a bit annoying.

It's a wacky idea, kind of like a tower defense game except you are the tower and you are moving on rails, and are quite literally "stuck in a loop". I didn't like that I had to install the game, and I'm still a bit confused about the objective of the game as I didn't ever lose even though a lot of enemies were crawling all over my pile of gold, there is no health bar or anything. The spider webs didn't do anything either.

A good concept for the theme. The exploding barrels were a cool mechanic. My one complaint is that as far as I can tell the enemies don't actually hurt you at all and there's no lose condition. (Maybe there is and I wasn't patient enough to reach it)

I love the concept of the game, but the game showed really small on my screen and I don't know if there is a bug but ton of enemes are on the gold and nothing happened.

and the Gold would make sense to be in the middle of the screen than being on the right

Overall
- Great entry I had fun playing.

Fun
- This is fun. Having to time your shooting around the geometry of the level is interesting. Killing a big group of enemies with a barrel is enjoyable.

Innovation
- I like how the zombie miners get caught in the spider webs

Graphics
- The art is nice. Some of the assets are top down and some are at a ¾ view.

Audio
- The sound effects are good, some music would be nice. The explosion is satisfying.

Mood
- Everything was cohesive felt like an old prospector whirling around firing off at the monsters in the shadows.

I had a lot of fun playing this, although wasn't able to get anywhere near as high a score as some of the other comments! I thought everything was very smooth and satisfying to play, although agree some kind of autofire would be nice as it was a bit hard on the clicking finger :p But I liked the graphics, the sounds were simple but fit well and gave good feedback, and the mechanic was fun. I appreciate how complete the game is, it feels polished and well made - nice one!
