SimCopter meets & Desert Strike and Will Wright's Raid on Bungeling Bay.

Created alone in 72 hours, here is Raid on LudumBay, a helicopter shooter game based on Will Wright's Raid on Bungeling Bay and Sim Copter.

You must keep the LudumBay city and its citizens alive by destroying the tanks and rescuing the citizens!

Land on buildings roof to pick up the citizens and bring them back on the ship to get rescue money. Alternatively, since you are a taxi-copter, you can transport them where they want (follow the arrow) to gain extra money. Make sure you have enough gas !

Land on the ship to buy ammo and refill your gas tank.

TO WIN THE GAME: Destroy all 8 enemy factories. Make sure to buy enough gas to reach them all!

You must prevent the enemy to destroy 15 buildings of your city!

Keep the city alive, rescue the citizens for money, and eradicate your enemy's factory !

5 stars for everything except humor. While the controls are a bit weird, this is super advanced for just 3 days!

@pakmanlie Yeah I'm working on a postjam version with a better aiming system ;) The missile weapon is hunterseeker, when you are in range, it will seek the target automatically.

Really difficult to control still fun to shoot and pick stuff! Amazing work for such a short amount of time!

@zerohbeat Thanks for the feedback. I'm working on a post jam version, making better controls and adding upgrades to the helicopter weapons ;) it should help a bit haha

I spent a lot of time trying to understand the keys and stuff, but after all, it's a nice game, interesting graphics, but you could resume the funcionalities of the chopper in fewer keys to optimize the gameplay and make it less hard to understand.... Also, mouse aiming would be nice

This is awesome. Even the screenshots sold the game for me immediatelly. Love those kinds of visuals. Just had a hard time with the controls, but everything else makes it for a cool game!

Very cool war game! One of the best war games I have played :D You should keep developing this into actual game with improved controls and more scenarios etc. Reminds me a lot Strike-series games, but still extra points for optional FPS-view.

This game is very confusing and there are too many controls, the UI is also very cluttered and takes way too much space. I did play enough to get used to some of the controls and realize the first person camera was actually better than the other one. Good job on adding such mobility to the helicopter, the acceleration thing it's got going on when you lean forwards/backwards is pretty interesting. The shooting also looks nice, though there's not much feedback when you destroy something or when you don't, or even when you hit it.

This was interesting. I liked almost everything about the game, but the controls were very confusing and off-putting. Also, you end up losing automatically and it's not entirely clear why. I lost too fast for me to really explore the game and get comfortable with the controls. A crazy taxi helicopter game sounds like it could be really fun. Maybe the invasion aspects should be pushed until later into the game, so players can be introduced to one mechanic at a time?

I think that with some more time, you could have polished this up into a really solid game. This has potential, and I hope you continue to work on it!

Nice work for a jam!! As it is the controls are pretty confusing, but I think with mouse controls this could be a lot of fun. I also think it might be worth swapping the main camera for the bottom right first person view, with mouse aim that'd be the one I'd be looking at most of the time.

@jordwest Thank you for the feedback I appreciate it :) Haha the controls are indeed confusing haha :) I rushed to code all the features and realized at the very end that the controls are quite weird :P I am working on a new PC version with mouse aiming and for the mobile version, I added "auto-aiming assistance system 2.0" :P

Hi, I really liked the game, though the controls were a bit confusing. What would definitely help would be putting them all closer on the keyboard to the WASD scheme. Otherwise than that, I really enjoyed the game, you should definitely keep on developing post-LD!

The game has a good graphic style, quite a big map and the controls of your helicopter are complex, which is often appealing for vehiclebased combat simulation. Imo the control layout should be a bit different, e.g. turning on Q & E and sidewards on A & D. Nevertheless the game is fun, and I enjoyed especially in the ego perspective.

Nice game! Impressive amount of work, event for a jam entry. As others have said before, the controls are a bit confusing, and the isometric view definitely shouldn't be the default, since it's almost impossible to control the helicopter by looking at it (and I didn't notice you could swap them at first, so I ended up playing a few games by only looking at the small secondary view lol). The difficulty level is a bit high (not unusual since you're probably good at your own game so it's hard to judge) but that ends up limiting the amount of content you discover. Maybe introducing the various elements over different levels would help make that smoother. But I'm nitpicking, you've done a good job! :)
