Nice one, I had a great time!
The art is absolutely fantastic, except the onions that felt quite out of place with this black outline. The amazing graphics, along with great music and short story elements, made me feel immerse really quick.
The platforming controls are ok, but I feel like you wanted to put too much in a jam game so some aspects become a bit lacking. For example, it is sometime hard to understand when you should jump and when you should dash through a platform. Jumping down from some platform but not others is not intuitive too.
Is there an ending? I went through all the forest but got stuck at the end I think.
Thanks for the game and keep up the good work 💕

You definitely nailed the theme !
Kinda hard sometimes, I almost gave up before the final obstacle. That's a tight jump !
Great work overall, good job team !
You need to dash upwards, once you interact with the spider egg and unlock the dash ability :P
Also, good job to everyone who managed to reach the end! We might've made it just a liiiitle too hard there in the end. :D
@misterm Once you turn on the light, you need to interact with the wardrobe and then you can go to the basement.
@doot There's an ending in the post-jam version. And you're right about the controls. I messed it up on the first day big time, and that left us with less time for tweaking the experience. :/
@maychant you need to jump and then dash up mid-air. To get down after you get the key you'd need to dash down.
Maybe it's just me, but it took me a very long time before I figured out that I am supposed to ride the bat in the basement to get the wand, I've restarted the game several times before I've realised what I am supposed to do.
I believe you wanted to give the player a challenge in the end, but that could have been done using the magic wand instead.
The platforming was not required but even if you wanted to have it, the jump and the dash is a mess, the is no diagonal dash making it nearly impossible to do few thing, there is little air control so it's hard to time jumps.
That being said, I was able to complete it in one last attempt, and my guess was right so the art did make sense and may the controls too can be excused, because we're stuck in a bad loop no wonder we're loosing the grip over everything.
The mood and overall feel of the game was amazing, congratulations to the whole team and all the best for your future projects!

Gameplay was okay but it was a bit hard to tell what I could and couldn't collide with and controlling some of the objects with A/D when they weren't visible on the screen also made things difficult. Overall though you got a lot done in the time frame so well done
The control scheme though... There seems to be no reason to dedicate A/D to moving platforms and not use classic WASD controls. Dash controls also feel quite frustrating. I'll be honest, my fingers feel kinda sore after playing.
Once again, the art is beautiful.
disappointed not to be able to go to the end, because I was stuck at this part :

Impossible for me to reach the platform. It's like there's a big collision box that block me. Or perhaps I miss something to do?
Anyway. It's a very nice entry. Congratulation to the team!
I got this weird childlike vibe, and things that wouldn’t fit that idea (like the pills, the alcohol bottles and, well, the rope) are put in scene with such a sense of childish naivety that it strangely fits again. Very magical, sentimental atmosphere!
I loved how the bringers of unfortunate events were made to be guides and useful platforms, which really underscored this whole idea of children’s openness to things adults may have strong connotations for. When the rope finally entered the screen, I was cringing a bit, hoping things would turn out well, and while I’m not certain of that, the protagonist does look at it (fittingly) with incredible objectivity.
What a beautiful and strange and beautiful game you created. Thank you so much for it!
In Genreal the most Graphics are really nice but they are not really fit together and irritating some times.
Till the end I wasn't sure about the "Thorns" in the Wood if they should kill me or not.
The Loop idea was also not totally flashing me.
In total good Work and Well done especially that kind of game for such a short time.
@overlook-studios yeaah onions are leftover placeholders cause we managed to finish the *real* creatures half an hour after submission hour haha  thanks for your suggestions also!! I think we all agreed that the multiple buttons you have to press at some points are working against the whole experience.
@cubiclaw you are right about the bats... took us loooong time to decide what the 'moving objects' would be.. it would be either 'plain boxes' or some kind of leaving creature... for some reason we decided on the second even if we new it would be confusing... Buuuuut they are moooore beautifuuul, riight?? :3 (baaad last minute decisiooons  )
@kaafirookie yeaah... forest was done a bit quickly bcs our environment artist was working last day of jam so she didn't have enough time for polish... thanks for your honest feedback and for excusing our controls hahahaha
@shortbread and @oneiromancer thanks for your feedback as well!! and swooorry for your sore fingers.. hope they got better
@mza yeaah bats are confusing... Weell the wand controls some boxes in the basement... you can press A/D to move them around from anywhere you are!! (amazing huh?? )
@matootsy did you try hopping on the bat? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: (thanks for playing and for your supportive words *and* sorry you didn't manage to finish the game...
@bentekiller ooopss~ @pulni, @lyrcaxis .. did you forget to loop the sound? :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
yeeeah we didn't actually manage to make the ending on time and as we had imagined... even the post jam versions have a placeholder one.. bcs we thought it would be unfair to make it polished as in the original version there isn't even one...
@trexxak your comment was soo mooooviing, it made my day~ :'DD Thanks a lot nice random person on the internet for sharing your beautiful thoughts :yellow_heart:
@karolina-lewszyk aww :purple_heart: I am sure you'll do great!!! I'd love to see the results!! Do you plan on posting them somewhere?
@deathstorm could you explain more where you feel they are irritating and don't fit together? Would help us a lot to improve! Truth is, thorns where originally made to make the player get killed... but I think we decided thath shouldn't be the case.. cause...
:warning: **SPOILERS:** the player is already dead... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: (also we might have though it would be a bit annoying to restart the level.. especially with how difficult the controls are~)
@peace-of-cake-games but where is this list i am reading all about???
*Your beautiful comments are filling the atmosphere of our page with warmth, beautiful colors and chocolate cookie smells~ Gratitude to all~!* :fallen_leaf:
In my opinion the walls of the house are not really fit to the interrior the some of the "objects" (Interrior) seems to be a slght other style then the other.
The animals have also annother style which are just "bite" with the other objects.
Especially in the woods/forest, the 2 different types of wood are irritating and then the thorns which are just not really fit in the scene.
Then I think it was not really clear through what I can Dash and through what not.
Its pretty hard to describe and maybe its just my subjective view. But Iam just talking with a friend and we both can't really put it into words what bothers us in the different screenshots.
Never the less a cool Game ;)
I think there were too many bats and mouses it annoyed me a little but was fine also the last bit where I had to dash and jump was very frustrating to me.
other than that the game is a small masterpiece, very well done.
