Uncover The Loop by DevParty

[raw]
made by DevParty for Ludum Dare 47 (COMPO)

In "Uncover The Loop" you must find a way out of the looping room to win.

I will have the youtube video link here when is is ready : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhWfhCf3Ts0

My game fits the theme because a loop can also be described as a wormhole, and if you have played my game, you will notice that there are invisible portals all over the map.

The link to the windows download has both a .zip for a safe download and a .exe for a fast download.

The scripts are can also be downloaded on the itch page.

Hope that you like my game! Another 0.5 years of gamedev really helped. And its 3D!

The game idea was okay, but I was not able to solve the puzzle. The games graphics was simple and okay. The music was perhaps not the best, but it fits the game and I liked it. The player movement was a bit too fast for me. Overall an okay jam game.

Oh Wow! It is really fast in the build.

@devparty Time.deltaTime is your friend if you're struggling with movement speed! You could definitely make the game a bit more accessible by adding a global light to help people see, and by tweaking some controls (i.e. c to toggle crouching, and click to pickup/drop rather tan holding)

Solved it (with a bit of brute-force)! Never found clue #2, but I narrowed it down to four numbers. The clues were fun, and the non-euclidean level was great. And the useless doors and red button were funny. Thanks for making it!

I played the speed fix version and it's REALLY SLOW. I wanted to solve it, but between the loops and ending up back where I started, and walking so slowly I gave up. As a suggestion, maybe make the signs just have the clues on them instead of having to go up and click them? It would make it a lot quicker to read the clues. Other than that, the graphics were simple but worked, and the music, while simple, fit the game and is better than none which puts you above many games.

Really like the usage of clues as part of the game and the general look. Great job on the submission!

Nice little puzzle game, the graphics and physics need a bit more polish, but otherwise it's not bad. I liked the atmosphere.

I wasn't able to get the code, because I couldn't read clues (I have a glitch in Unity games with text not rendering when playing under Wine, it's not a problem with your game), but I solved all the other puzzles.

A pretty well rounded experience, although I'd say it needs more polish, and can definitely be expanded further!

Liked the clue system but it was too fast for me. Good job :v:

I really enjoyed the non-euclidean maze. After a little bit I managed to get my head around it a be able to navigate the maze easily. The clues were a fun way to solve the code, added a extra bit of thought to the solve.
Only problem I saw was with the teleportation of the player was a little juttery, seemed like a little skip in the level. This did however allow me to navigate easier.
Overall it is a cool concept and would like to see it expanded further.

Ok, if a game makes me taking pen and paper and writing down things I automatically like it a lot. I really like your game, it was a really nice logical puzzle that involved exploration (and the exploration kind of blown my mind)

I have some suggestions that you might want to consider:
- The signs are a kind of a missed opportunity to place the text on the object itself
- The vent thing is kind of glitchy (I accidentally dropped it through the ground one time)
- The music is a little bit too repetitive

Keep it up! It's a really good game :D
