HEALWALL for LD46 "keep it alive" inverse arkanoid game - keep wall alive. still no music and gameover screen, and, i'm sure, many more! )

read comments and understood something: players need some instructions: ) INSTRUCTIONS: * you playing on WALL side, bat and ball is your enemy! * to upgrade some brick - click on it, and timeout in left upper corner will countdown to next allowed. or you can click on place, where brick can be - and it appear. * click on bat and you will use come action (you can see it name in string over brick wall), next name will appear and timer will countdown. * in bottom line you can see next bat action and time to it - it will do something bad to your wall!

nice idea and also nice retro style. The music will play a huge role in this game ;-)

Inverse Arkanoid is a cool take on the theme  The game is fun and well made, I just had a hard time figuring out when I can add or reinforce bricks. Good job

haha liked the take on the theme :) Controls feels a bit jerky though and degrade with time somehow?

Really nice idea. I like it a lot. The graphics is simple yet effective. The sound effect adds a nice touch.

I am a bit confused when playing the first time so some in-game instructions would help. You can also consider adding some strategic depth (different types, combos, etc) to the game to make it more fun. Also the UI could be a little clear whether you are on a cooldown or not.

Innovating game. Maybe more instruction will be better :p (like click on brick to heal , and click on the "enemy" to use the spell)

Funny game, but can we lose? Sometimes, I have no bricks left and still win ^^.

Good job.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what's going on in this game.

The game, UI and style are great, I could not figure out what are the rules and when can I add blocks/reinforce them. Amazing art and UI flow for such a short time

Interesting twist on a classic :) Maybe you could have added a bit more depth than just to add different actions or feedback on whether you can add blocks or not, but good fun nonetheless.

to Faber: i planned one, but not done in time.

to Nazorus, Ruoyu: planned some animated icons, but was too late to implement it.

to Toffanim: i'm sure some not found in test error still in game.

to Vivoubos: yeah, still no gameover here: )

Really original and nice concept ! First I had difficulty to understand fully the game, I think that it misses some visual/UI feedback, in order to know what happens in a first glimpse.

But overall, nice work !

This is genius! I was really enjoying it until it seemed like the enemy got stuck on the wall, and let me clear several levels in a row without doing anything. But still, I'm really impressed!

Very interesting take on the theme. At first I wasn't totally clear on what I was supposed to be doing. Also after I got it it felt like I wasn't able to heal walls I should have been able to. Just needs a bit of clearing up for the player. Good job otherwise!

Fun game, the sounds add a lot of personality and the art is done well, I like the little intro animation too. : )

This is SUCH a unique game! I had no idea what the heck I was doing for the longest time because I didn't see any instructions anywhere, but once I realized that clicking the bat does my power-down to it and that I could click on the bricks/blank spaces to add/upgrade bricks, it was cool.

It seemed like every time I clicked the bat (when the powerdown was available) it ended up being unable to hit the ball, but I might've just been timing it really well

to CataclysmicKnight: yeah, no instructions in game, but i put some right here, in game description. when i understood, that my game realy needs them: )

5-stars for innovation and theme! I think you nailed the concept of the theme pretty well with this one, it was kind of mind bending for me.

Very interesting idea. For now some upgrades are useful (faster ball) and some are useless (almost every another one), but that's just a matter of balance. And sometimes click on bat doesn't work. Nevertheless, good job!

Could use a few more instructions (your tutorials you later added here on the submission page are nice), but once you learn the rules it's very enjoyable.

This was a pretty neat idea for a game! I appreciate the addition of the instructions in the description, I had a similar issue with my game needing a lot of instructions :). I did notice some bricks getting destroyed somewhat randomly. Not sure if this was intentional or not. Either way, great job!!

@zennith, bat have a prize, that breaks all bricks, they all decreased by one.

Cool twist, without the instructions I would have never figured out that I could tap on the bat to do things - I would suggest using bars that shrink instead of numbers counting down when you can use the block refill or tap the bat, and also some sort of "flash" or indicator when something is available to use. Maybe even some confirmation when you use it, like "stun!" text that fades out when you activate it. Overall a fun compo entry, nice work!
