My 2020, Ludum Dare 47 game submission for the theme: "stuck in a loop".

How To Play:

Use W,A,S,D or arrow keys to control the player

Press Left Shift to slow down time and get invincibility on you trail temporarily.

Circle around enemies and powerups to kill and collect them respectively.

( + powerups increase tail length, heart powerups increase health)

Known Issues: - The way I made the looping detection, there can only be ONE loop at a time. If I had more time I would have fixed it but I believe this is what people are reporting as inaccuracies in the loop detection. If you are having trouble making loops, make sure that there are no loops made by your trail and then make another loop.

  • The game has no audio, (again, I was short on time) dont worry, your speakers are not broken :)

Thank you for all the feedback!

Very cool concept and gameplay, ran into an issue with the loop not connecting when it got longer.

Great graphics, the loop detection was a bit buggy though, it sometimes didn't trigger when it seemed like it should. Overall though I liked the simple but addictive gameplay of it.

Nailed the movement! Also like the amount of glow on the sprites.

Interesting concept and cool visuals! The difficulty curve was a bit weird though. Maybe you could turn it into an engaging arcade game.

The best action/arcade-y game I have played so far this LD. The web version wouldn't load for me, and although the Windows version did run fine under Wine, there was no sound (not sure if the game has sound or not, I couldn't rate it).

Not much to say about the gameplay other than that it was well executed. Simple, tight, responsive. Really nice execution of the looping mechanic, good job!

Pretty visuals and interesting concept. Reminds me of playing Snake back in the day. Could use a soundtrack.

I think this is my favorite jam game so far. The feel of movement and the way the tail adjusts as you're looping is really nice. Not sure if this was left out or supposed to be there, but I had no sound. This would feel 10000% better with some SFX and music. Well done!!

Beautiful game, the controls are super intuitive, the gameplay explained itself, I love the idea that to win you have to do the opposite of the snake game and how it integrates with the theme.

One of the best use of the theme! I wish there was some audio, but otherwise it looks so polished!

Highly polished, very solid core and replayability. you have to share how you did that chromatic aberration. really cool small details. This is easily the game I scored the highest, even above my own. the lack of audio really didn't take away since the game plays well with my own music in the background. I just had a thought; This can be awesome on a mobile phone where you use the gyroscope/accelerometer to move around well done!
