Unfortunately, your spaceship is not equipped for sun-hugs. Destroy asteroids and satellites to collect resources: green galacti-coal to keep your ship in orbit and blue iso-fuel to power your thrusters and escape the sun's deadly orbit!

  • > WASD moves your ship
  • > Spacebar (tap or hold) to fire your blasters

Your missed shots will remain in orbit and can damage your ship. Watch your back!

Hi there ! Thanks for submitting your game to my stream (twitch.tv/drjavasaurus). This one has awesome art. The titlescreen alone already does more to me than a motivational poster with one of those kitties on a clothes-wire. Well done to you and your team, I enjoyed it! The difficulty ramps up quite fast, but at no time did I have the feeling the game is not fair. An entry worth playing !

Cute and funny graphics, but the connection with the theme was a bit weak

Cool game. I can commend you guys on a lot of things with this one but I want to focus on one thing that I absolutely loved: The fact that when you miss a bullet, it goes around orbit. This mechanic is awesome not only because at first you'll see that this is a hazard that might hit you, but also bc it can help you destroy objects in your path if you keep in mind where you've been. I loved that idea and look forward to what you guys come up with in the future!

The music and an artstyle is very good! And the bullet-returning mechanic is very fun to play.

Always happy to support a fellow GMS2 dev! I saw this when it was a WIP somewhere and I'm glad it popped up. Really enjoyed the art style and music on this one, and the take on the theme. Not much to say really, just that it's simple and it works!! Great job, and fantastic work on the Sun, he looks so huggable...

This is so much fun to play. The art is nice. Reminds me of Rick and Morty, love it.

This game is fantastic, the humor is on point and the art is perfect. I love how the bullets loop around, it was a real game changer when I realized I could use the looping around to hit future asteroids Great job :)

What a lovely little game! Nothing very innovative, that's true, but hey, it works. Your selling point is of course the CUTEST SUN IN THE GALAXY. The graphic work on the menus is also very nice!

Hey @lurkinmcclerkin @fishnoodler and @nimmems !

You got me with the animated title picture, veeery cute !

The game art is as funny as anounced which is great, loved the fact that you could choose between ships and that the last one has a totally different style (I of course took that one, I mean it's freaking guy riding a rocket and shooting lasers out of a blaster gun, what more do you want !)

The gameplay is quite straightforward and I feel a bit repetitive, one clever addition was the lasers going back round and becoming a threat to yourself, though I do feel like there are too many objects flying around from the start to take full advantage of it.

I think perhaps having fewer and smaller obstacles might lead to more misses and therefore much more of your own lasers coming back to you !

It's a solid entry, a proper menu, the music does its job, it's funny and allows a quick fun play so well done all.

Keep up the good work !

Feel free to check my entry and give my your opinions

Cheers

This game was great, really made me think about everything I was doing. Don't shoot too fast or else the bullets will wrap around the screen and hit me. Don't shoot too slow or else the asteroids will wrap around the screen and pile up. But while I'm focusing on all this, I still need to collect fuel and power!

Graphics and audio were great as well. Solid jam entry!

man, that sun is so cool :D

Really love the artstyle and mood you set up, I could also get behind the gameplay. Speaking of though, while I did catch on how to use the orbiting projectiles to my favor, it still felt a bit too hard to manage. Maybe that's because of all the debris on the screen and the hectic atmosphere, though. All in all still a great entry though. Shine on! (get it, because sun? nvm...)

Awesome. Really cool how you made such a simple concept more fun than it's supposed to be :) The characters and animations were awesome and it was a nice to be able to select multiple ships. The game play loop itself got stale pretty quickly and I quit after three suns since it didn't seem to really progress any more. Is there an actual ending or does it go on infinitely? I really like when games implement an actual ending even when the game play loop allows for an endless experience.

The controls were snappy and responsive, no gripes with that. Dodging the stuff from the right and your own shots from the left were a nicely balanced challenge. Good work!

That sun was so friendly, I couldn't help but oblige it (on many occasions :slight_frown:). Bullet-wrap shenanigans were a cool tweak on the usual shooter mechanics. I liked how you could end up with a million projectiles on screen, it really added to the hectic feeling. Nice work!

Not all of us are using huge monitors or retina displays here...thank you for including a 1280x720 option. (I was quite worried when the game opened and it stretched all the way across both of my monitors)

Pretty simple game, but fun for what it is! I feel like having the obstacles be smaller and more numerous would have been an interesting tweak (?)
