Miniature_V1.png

Infermum is a mother-of-little-devils simulation. Take care of baby Satans while summoning Baphomet. This is a multitasking game of Hell. If you don't play well, babies die =(

CONTROLS

  • To pass on to the next level, fill the pentagram by typing the incantation text at the bottom of the screen.

  • At the same time, use Key 1, 2 and 3 to interact with the babies.

  • Use the mouse to select the baby you want to interact with and to interact with the other elements like the souls of the damned !

I REALLY appreciate that you added instructions which come up while playing. Perfect for a jam/browser game!

Very interesting game! I like the art for the harp and other background objects! It felt like the controls stopped working properly for the second level, although I could have just been doing something wrong. Good job!

The presentation on this is incredible, the transitions between levels graphics and sounds all work so well together great work!

The gameplay itself is super stressful and honestly really fun!

i played for a while keeping them babies from hell alive, but baphomet didn't show up :c was the incantation supposed to show some progress? i loved the theme at atmosphere, pretty cool!

amazing! i really enjoyed it.
It gets kind of confusing when you reach 2 babys, but it's a great game. You could add some sort of ui alert to advise the player to type the spell ingame, i don't know if it is because i'm sleep deprived or what but i got like 150 souls till i realized i had to type xD
besides of my experience, i am realy amazed of the polished level of the game. it's so simple, yet it's complete and it feels great. The ambience and humor are the main strength of the game. just the menu with that music made me take on full screen.
thank you for this game!

Nice game congratz! I didn't exactly got that YOU HAD TO TYPE the incantation but after I got it was really enjoyable  The sounds and graphics were cool, I only think the theme was not spot on in accordance.
Typing latim (or whatever) was also an enjoyable added difficulty but for people not so used to typing I guess the game would be pretty hard.
Keep on making great games!

### Thank you everyone for your feedbacks ! It's hearwarming and we learned a lot

@vulgaris yeah when you type you increase the pentagram and when it's full you go to the next level. There are 5 level before the ending with Baphomet xD @narom42

@thibaud-ligneul wow good job :D It's very hard to finish the 5 levels but you got the good technique xD

We cheated and played with two people and managed to beat it. It was pretty hard with just one. It was really fun. The art and music fit your game really well.

Super cool! Love the music and sound effects. Had no idea you had to type out the incantation until I read the comments lol but after I figured that out it was a lot of fun to play

@kayacarlton Alright I succeeded, it was hard but fun, didn't understand the first time the typing part.
Got to have a good typing speed for last levels !

Multitasking at its best. It was great fun and stressful playing that game.
The harp seemed to break too much though. Having to repair the it after one click for a long period of time was quite annoying. In addition a sound would be nice if your try to play the harp when it is broken or throw diapers when the trash is full. I often thought the game was not reacting spamming 3 to play the harp until i repaired it.
Nevertheless great entry! I needed three attempts to beat it which is a good amount

@pilarius thanks a lot your feedback is super helpfull !! :D How did you find the ending ? Because I made it and my friends were like OMG that's it ??

@kayacarlton Showing a single image was not that rewarding.

Maybe a small animation letting all babies start to rotate around the vicious circle going faster and faster. A bit of screen shake and smoke filling the visible area. Everything fades into black except the glowing vicious circle which merges into the forehead of Baphomet, combined with evil laughter and a quick cut into black.

Something like that could be more interesting but takes time which is short during a game jam :)
Sadly wo also have a single image at the end of our game ^^

Really good job with this game, it's fun and has a great atmosphere.

When I was playing though I kept finding myself clicking each baby and then pressing 1,2,3 rather than trying to solve each problem as it came up, not sure if that's really how it was intended to play.

Very well done overall though.

Haha loved it! Took me a while to figure out how to cast the incantation but i got it in the end.

Maybe you could step it up a bit it one of the demon babies start to teeth or gets chicken pox >D

## Thank you all for playing and commenting ! I precise for the new players : you have to type the incantation ! And even if the game is hard, it is possible to do the 5 levels so good luck :P

@sweetznezz maybe it is because you have to select the baby with the mouse before interacting with him, which is not necessary when there is only one baby.

@infinite it was not clear enough but you have to type the incantation in latin (Bottom of the screen) to go to the next level =)

@pilarius I agree a single image is not a big reward considering all the effort the player has to do x)

Great game guys, very fun and innovative, well balanced and very well polished. I did manage to finish the game in my first run, but it was quite challenging on the last couple of levels; I think the overall difficulty is very well tuned, enough to force you to go in full concentration mode but not too much to frustrate you.

Well done! :D

First I didn't know that I had to do the incantation, but when I understood that, the concept of your game kicked in ! Sincerely, I liked the mix between take care of the baby devil and typing the incantation, it was quite cool !

Moreover, I liked a lot the devil ambiance of your game, the art style and the music helped well to be immerse in your game.

I have nothing to say more, the only issue I had, was the loading time of the web player which was very long.

Overall really nice game !

Guys your web version takes a bit long to load. Maybe the 160 MB is a bit much.

But anyway a fun and creative game. It was sometimes hard to decide if there is an I or an J (are there even J in latin)? I had to laugh when I read lorem ipsum. You keep the player busy and your UI has a lot of useful hints and is intuitive. Well done :).

Great tutorial level. The management mechanics worked well with the theme. Nice sounds too. Felt polished. Art/animations were solid. Good jam!

The tutorial level was a lot of fun. I think the game would have been more enjoyable if the popups with the controls would have stayed in the rest of the level. Other than that great jam entry!

Demanding little satans. Tsk tsk. That was really fun! Though by the time you reach four little devils you're basically running around like a mad thing. Alas, it would appear we are not up to the task of raising a bevy of dark overlords on our own. It's worth mentioning that I really appreciated the tutorial aspects of the first level, it helps you settle into the grove of things and is a factor that people often overlook, but you handled it really intuitively. Very well crafted overall. Good job!

A hell of a game indeed! Although I'm not usually a fan of games that require players to interface through both the keyboard and mouse, I think that was utilized well as part of the challenge here, forcing players to decide between the multiple tasks. I think the tutorial level is great, but could maybe also be improved for clarity by splitting it up into more levels, each focusing on one task (ie. 1st level: typing to fill pentagram, 2nd level: collecting souls and feeding, and so on...) Overall a solid entry, and I loved the theme! :smiling_imp:

Awesome game, and I learned while playing your game the importance of providing instructions front and center to the player, which I find my game lacking for.
