Correct me if I'm wrong, but the point is that the bonsai is just a red herring and that the thing you're keeping alive is actually the relationship right? Liked the game

I love the concept of this game and the execution is really great!! It would've been nice to have something to do while waiting for a text, but this is amazing work for 72 hours! Looking forward to possibly seeing more someday!

It's hard to write believable flirty/romantic text dialogue, but I think you nailed it. The line "the tree has caught fire" really cracked me up. Everything really fits together well here, the music, the visuals, it's super cohesive. It has a bit of the same vibe of a Tale of Tales game. I like the double meaning of the theme too. Great job!

Very nice atmosphere you created there. I love how there was a bit of teasing in the dialogue, sometimes tension, sometimes relaxed. Made it feel closer to reality.

I liked the music which is very relaxing, and the nice visual design !
I had two times the same ending, did I miss something to have another ending ? (of course I didn't respond the same answers)

I think that it would be nice to reflect the answers we made through the bonsai, for example, if we answer bad, the bonsai begins to fall. Because for now, it misses a link between the phone and the bonsai.

Overall, nice work !

Well-written and sweet, and the visuals really heightened all that. A really polished entry; well done!

@edalbung Thanks so much for playing! It's a bit hard to get the true ending, so I've made a simple walkthrough for you (or anyone else) who'd like to see it. The true ending has a little more going on than the others, so I think it's worth the replay to get it.

Hey, what a lovely little experience I just had! I like the mood this room in which everything takes place has. It's all very cozy. Even though the background music is simple, it's very appropriate for the whole casual aspect of the lonely-but-virtually-connected situation. Keep it up!!

Such a nice little story, told in a super lovely way! The simple addition of putting the phone down and picking it back up does so much to ground the conversation and make it feel real, what an awesome idea.

Like the dual meaning of the theme in this one, too.

Great writing! You have a really good sense of dialogue flow because it was very easy for me to pick a choice every since prompt, as they would be things I would say irl, even the snarky ones.

Because of the music, I was pretty sure the bonsai was going to turn into a monster or something, so I made sure to play it like Five Nights at Freddie's and be careful. I'm glad that wasn't the case, at least with the ending I got.

Overall this was a nice deviation from the other game I've been playing this LD. I was skeptical at first because I'm not much of a narrative game player, but your dialogue was relatable and it drew me into the world very quickly.

This is great! The control you have over the phone, the blur while the phone is up, the little alert icon, and the way the scene is nicely arranged with the light all work together to make this very charming. The only thing it felt like it was "missing" was a sound effect or two for messages coming up on the phone - overall I really liked it though!

@graebor There is a quiet phone buzz sound effect if you have the phone down when you receive a message, which I decided not to have play when the phone was up, but I do like the idea of having a couple different notification type sounds for sending/receiving while the phone is up! The buzzing could maybe stand to be a little louder as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

@junebug you thought of everything, haha - I guess my speakers were too quiet, my bad!

Lovely game. Trying for the bad ending was heart-breaking! Also I was disappointed I could not actually take care of the cute little bonsai.

Cute game! As a completionist, I had to get all 3 endings, but I really didn't like trying for the bad one. I felt like some of the responses were not taken the way I would have expected ("Watch out for dangerous crabs" felt like a joke to me, but the SO seemed to take me seriously) but overall it was a nice, chill experience. Great job!

Captured the feeling of "I want to say this joke, but I hope it will make sense over text ... let's just try it!" perfectly. :)
Beautiful.

I liked the atmosphere created and the storyline although it was a little too slow paced in my opinion. The different paths were really nice though. Maybe if you had more time, it would have been good to add the ability to pick responses to their responses and make it a little more conversational although that would have possibly created a huge branching tree so I totally get why you kept it simple question and answer! Overall, nice concept and interpretation of the theme. Well done!
