About

Majestic X is a giant robots fighting game. Defeat the evil robot and save the world!!

Obviously, I took inspiration in classic super giant robot animes like Mazinger Z. I tried to match not only the art style, but also for the animations.

Controls

Controls are pretty simple:

  • LMB/Ctrl: Attack
  • RMB/Alt: Block
  • Left/A: Dodge Left
  • Right/D: Dodge Right

You need to time your attacks correctly in order to damage your oponent.

The Theme

Well... you are... keeping everyone's hope alive... I guess...

I know.

Updates

v1.0.1 [04/20/20] * Minor fixes for animations and combat. * Help UI for new players.

very nice graphics and animation! I like the different camera perspectives when you reach the other stages of the fight. The game reminds me of that unreal engine game for smartphones from some years ago, too bad I forgot the name. very good entry!

It's deffinetly fun but it's not really on the topic.

The artwork and animation were great! The game is a little too simple though. You can just block and attack without having to dodge at all. Other than that, it was a fun little game! Nice job!

Loved the characters and animations, the art was really cool! The perspective you created with the camera was perfect for a boss battle :) Sometimes the controls felt a bit unresponsive but overall great work!

I legitimately liked this a lot. I played for about 15 minutes before I finally got good enough to beat the enemy. The dynamic camera was the best part; really well done. The concept is great: it feels like an arcadey Dark Souls with a Virtual On vibe with a pinch of Punch-Out or Shadow of the Colossus. It looks like it'd be right at home on Sega Saturn. It would have benefited from some sound, but overall it's really cool. Great world-building too. One of my favorites so far.

Nice game, IT would have been nice if the animations would react faster. The camera angles are very nice btw

Played it for a while, seemed pretty unresponsive, if it were more responsive it would have been a lot more fun

Game's graphics are really nice. I loved both characters designs and animations. I had issues with the controllers sometimes and I was a bit frustrated. I think the theme was a little bit underused.
I really enjoyed the game. Congratulations!

The game was pretty cool, but the animations were a little slow.

It reminds me of the old Infinity Blade games on iOS. Very impressive given the time constraints

I think this is a cool game, a little slow for my tastes, but other than that, the graphics and the animation look great!

The game lacks of sound design and I think the gameplay is not enough responsive. But I love the graphics and the animations! I think that if you improve the gameplay a bit it could improve the experience!

That was more a gentle camera cradling than a camera shaking :D

I like the dynamic camera angles. you might want to look into some cinematographic techniques for exaggerating scale, although it looks like you already used a couple of those (:
adding some more visual feedback would go a long way

Great graphics but I would have lowed to have sound effects in it! I liked the camera angles shifts. I would have liked a little bit more action in the fights.

Adding some sound effect would be nice, but nice graphics. I see your efforts :smile_cat: Good job!

Cool game. The AI is pretty smart for a jam game. I like the fight mechanics, and they aren't too easy, which is good. No complaints really, nice job!

Really nice graphics/animations, and I love the camera! Unfortunately I couldn't properly figure out when to do what. And I'm really missing the sound effects (although I guess that would've been a lot more work in this genre than in others).
