Run! Skeliboi is a game about keeping yourself alive, even after death. The first release from the team Neato Burrito, for the LD46 game jam! We hope you enjoy. In this game you take on the role of a revived skeleton!

However, now you have to run, run from the police who isn't to happy about your impromptu resurrection.

Be chased through different environments as you jump over every obstacle from tombstones to grandmas! So run Skeliboi and keep yourself alive!

Idea of it being a skeleton (and unused assets): @SenStrawberry

This was my first time working in a team, and @SenStrawberry & @CyclonicHeart51 's first time making a game at all. As such, we had some issues! For example, we spent the whole first day on a dead idea, the second day we spent wayyyyy too long planning, and on the third day @SenStrawberry mysteriously disappeared (we assume this was through no fault of his own, since his strict parents do randomly prohibit him from using his PC). As a result of being down our only non-pixel artist, we had to scrap half of the entire concept (including the main way it fit with the theme). What you will play is the result of our improvisation with this poor luck and poor planning, but we are just very glad to have published anything at all. Hope you enjoy! :)

Note: not playing in fullscreen is recommended for better FOV.

losing momentum after hitting something was basically the end, since there was little to no way to recover afterwards. graphics and sound fx were great though

Nice little entry! Very convenient that it can run in browser - I now have my desktop replacement for minion run 😉

A very chill game that could become very addicting with a few new features. Love it!

This game was pretty good :D giving the player time to recover after making a mistake was a good design choice. My high-score was 40.![screen.png](///raw/288/e2/z/30fcf.png)

I find that when you're moving slowly it's very difficult to clear double obstacles, so success feels dependent on the rng, but once you get up to speed the gameplay becomes a lot more enjoyable.

Simple game, can get quite repetitive but still fun. The audio was also simple but still of decent quality. The gameplay was honestly addictive though, I was playing it for longer than anticipated, aha! Good job!

Simple yet pretty fun! Skeliboi is charismatic. The oportunity that you give the player after making a mistake is gold. I liked the music, just thought it could be a bit longer. Good job!

@lairinlair thanks for your feedback! I did the music in a rush, I agree that it is too short and repetitive!

68 was my high score. Had quite a bit of fun playing it! Very simple, but feels quite polished. Would have loved a death sound effect, and the game feels like it's a little bit unfair at times - in particular when you hit an obstacle which is then immediately followed by a double obstacle. :stuck_out_tongue:
Other than that, the only issue I had was that the suburban street background kinda hurt my eyes when I got to full speed. Hahaha

Overall a very cute little infinite runner. Nice work!

Very fun game, and pretty addictive! Good job pulling it off even with the administrative problems you were facing! I agree with the others that due to the slower run speed, the first section is a little bit harder.
Anyways, my highscore is 109. Fun fact: at some point you're getting so fast that you start to outrun the level generator XD ![Skeliboi.jpg](///raw/5c9/c2/z/32fe5.jpg)

Simple game, but everything works. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/SML2NB40RxM

While to mechanics and graphics of this are very simply, I still had a lot of fun with it. Wanting to see new environments kept me replaying (I got to 82 points in the end). I found the hitboxes of obstacles a bit confusing; I appreciate the game being lenient with you when you hit the back part of obstacles but that also makes it rather hard to judge where I should ideally land. But as I said before, I still enjoyed my time with this game a lot and the hitboxes were really only a minor issue. Great job!

@junber thanks for your feedback! I agree, the hitboxes are bad. We didn't leave enough time for playtesting, a big regret. However, we are working on a post-jam version of the game which will actually be released on the Google Play store, as we think this game suits mobile way better than PC!
