Synopsis

In a post apocalyptic world, our badass and invincible main character has to keep a mysterious and oblivious robot alive (see what we did there?) during their adventures. She has access to two tools: a shotgun to get rid of the bandits attacking the robot and an umbrella acting as both a platform and a protection against acid dropped by drones throughout the 4 levels of the game.

Key bindings:

Arrow keys: Move/Jump

X,C,V: equip item

@bearding8 We went for a die and retry vibe, but yeah, some areas would deserve a more...thorough treatment! Thank you!

Well done guys, enjoyed the game. A steep difficulty curve but think with the checkpoints didn't make it frustrating. Great Job!!!

Fun entry ! You could improve it by making the levels shorter, or the kid faster. Waiting for him during first level was really annoying. The concept and mechanics are simple, but executed pretty well :)

I really enjoyed this! Died a fair few times figuring things out but overall it's a solid game, matching the theme very well! :)

That was really satisfying to complete. It took me quite a lot of retry's to get through it but I know each failed attempt was my own fault because the level design is done so well done. Loved the art and whole concept :D Really nice job!

Really liked the concept and overall vibe, but while technically clean it felt quite tedious to restart because of dangers that felt a little unfair like every drop of acid being deadly or the fact that you should tank sniper hits and not try to shoot it. But a nice game overall, have to like the die and retry aspect obviously ^^

I liked the art and appreciated the inclusion of frequent checkpoints! At times gameplay was slow, but there were enough "surprises" to spice things up and keep me playing until the end. One thing that could be improved is the physics... I got stuck standing in a pit once, and they felt a bit janky. I liked the drone swarm at the end, and thought the title card + ending card were especially nice bits of art

Escort mission aren't usually fun, so i was concerned before playing the game...

...I'm gratefull i played anyway!!!

One question: What was the point of the third inventory slot??? (Asking this because i was hoping for a new object to be introduced, and kinda dissapointed when it wasn't...) There was some sort of object that was cut in mid production, an object that is planned to be implemented in future builds or just an oversight\spare wheel???

@marxy-37 The third inventory slot allows you to walk without any objects in the hand (we had made the animations for that so we kept it in the game :D). But you're right we had planned for more objects / gameplay mechanics that we unfortunately had to cut out because of time limitations  Who knows we might expand on the game in the future !

Thank you for your comment, and also warm thanks to all the people that have reviewed our game ! Much love to you guys :D

@marxy-37 To complete the comment of my bro @minipeps, we were supposed to integrate a mysterious
![vuvuzela.png](///raw/24e/2/z/32b71.png) object for example ;)

Thank you for all your comments, we're enthousiastic to play your games as well !!

This is sweeet!

It's a really cute concept. Entertaining and well implemented.
In terms of information - as to why certain things work the way they do in your world -, I was troubled by the fact that I could go into the spikes but not the kid - because of that the kid kept dying until I understood that I was fine with those spikes but the kid wasn't. :see_no_evil:

I got quite far away on my second attempt though. Proud of that. Cool entry overall!!!

So cool concept and style! But I'd rather use 1,2,3 to switch items.

Fun idea and nicely executed. Protecting a cute robot with my bad ass shotgun is definitely a cool concept. My biggest gripe in this game tho are slopes, they have some very weird behaviour. Also the radiation spilling off the umbrella is just a bit too finnicky in my opinion. Otherwise a very fun game though.

@marakuya We wanted to, but we realized mid-way that our engine didn't support hardware keys, basically, with an azerty keyboards, 123 are &é", so we just used common keys instead

Pretty fun game! The game was pretty difficult, so the real heroes of this story were the checkpoints haha. It was an interesting decision to make a game mechanic regarding you legitimately taking shots for your ally. I feel like it was pretty reflective of a mother "taking a bullet" for her child. Overall, I enjoyed the game! Thanks for sharing! :)

Great entry, and a pretty unique take on the theme ive seen so far, first platformer I have seen, and it was done really well! I did find that the level transition effect was quite slow. After level one I was concerned it broke. Also I tried to pause using escape and ended up closing the game, a niche case but it did kinda suck for me. Kinda unpreventable when you need a way to close the game, but just thought it necessary to mention.

I love the idea and design of this, and the art style is really good too. I just feel like it needs a pinch more polish to really come together as a great game.

The physics and controls are just slightly finicky and imprecise, making it hard to move around(Especially when I need to fall into a small gap exactly the size of my character). The graphics are also all scaled independently of each other, just making things not feel cohesive(The main character is fine, while the robot is blurry, some objects have really large pixels while some have really small pixels).

I'd love to see where this goes, its a really unique idea!

Purely adorable! The graphics and the audio go together really well.

The game is quite challenging but that's okay :). The only thing I didn't like is a very round collider on those platformy thingies. It was hard to push them when needed (as if you just kept pushing, you ended up going over the top to the other side) and very easy to slide of them when you were jumping on them. I guess that added additional difficulty but just not in a way that I enjoyed.

I really like the concept here and your take on the theme. Well done!

PS. And additional points for making the game in Godot! We also made ours in Godot :)

Nice game! Liked the concept. Nice sfx, too. Just one thing: it is not really intuitive that we can walk on spikes but not the kid. Overall great entry! :)
