There seems to be some kind of positional or physics bug in this version of Godot that is causing the chains in level and on the main menu to not show up (sometimes you can briefly see them on load). Trying to figure out the issue for a quick bug fix, but everything else is fine.

It was fun when it lasted, though creepy sound effects would very much help set the tone

Really neat concept :) Enjoyed this immensely, wish it had sound though! Would've added to the mood.

I hit "Spacebar" to begin but the game doesn't begin :( It stays at the title acreen after fading out and back in.

I'm looking forward to playing this, but I'm getting a weird bug where I can't make it past the "press space to begin" screen. All it does is go dark for a bit and then the screen shows up again

@watswat5 @sergio-gonzalez Thanks for the heads up, turns out it was an issue with the export in "release" mode (to remove the console). I re-exported it as debug and that should fix the issue!

@sirtyler Awesome! I love the art, the atmosphere is cool. The controls are weird for a platformer though, the jumping feels off.

I could not open on osx (catalina) it says "The applicatio LD46 cannot be opened".

@watswat5 I planned on tightening the jumping controls near the end, but ran out of time for a lot of polishing (including adding sound, finishing animations, and adding a few more levels). I agree the jumping feels off, its a bit "weightless" at times

@mudlee I tested on both Linux and Windows, wasn't able to get a test done on OSX, are you able to give me anymore information?

Jump was a little dysfunctional but cool idea and good use of lighting!

Unfortunately no. I used godot a month before and I had similar problems with my own game and I could not solve it :( I thought it was because my mac needs a reinstall after years, but the current osx is as fresh and clean as a baby's bottom.

Nice moody art. I wish I could see more around me so I could better navigate and move around. Would have been cool to see more creative traps that attack the companion, or giving me more tools to actively protect the companion.

@mudlee @jetthesimon I've tried a re-upload of the OSX version, please let me know if it's still having issues

@ubershmekel I originally planned on having buttons to swing the chain around, but it was a feature I had cut due to time as I spent hours on it with little to no progress

@sirtyler still not opening. Just says application cannot open. Looking in the package it looks like your executable isn't a valid filetype.

Apparently I am not the only one that is having trouble exporting Godot to OSX so saddly it looks like I won't be able to support Mac :sob:

I like the little cage following me! It was fun.

Cool idea, and super crisp graphics. I really love the shadows, and the way the light is attached to the character. The jumping mechanic acts like the character is on the ISS, but its ok. Would love to see more levels, and hopefully even more secrets.

Good game, it has a nice atmosphere with some good art, I like how the cage moves around with the player, I would like to see more of this in the future.

The mood and overall idea of the game is very good, but the controls are very weird. Sometimes you can change your jump arc in midair, sometimes you can't, which makes platforming very frustrating, and the cage got stuck on platforms a few times. I like the idea of having to manipulate physics to keep the cage alive, but I think the levels could have taken advantage of this mechanic a little better. The cage is too close to you, so not letting the cage take damage and not taking damage yourself is pretty much the same thing. Also: when I got to the final level, I got a game over screen, which confused me because I though I had lost somehow. It took a few restarts to understand that was the final level, but I'm still not sure.

The size of the character and the dangling chain makes for some very bizarre picture, I like it. It's a bit too floaty for my taste, and it would really benefit from visual feedback when the companion was hit. Still, I hope you keep it up :)

Nice little game with great pixel art! The atmosphere and the concept is very good! It was a bit floaty but hey, there's pixel art!

When playing this game I saw errors appear in the Godot Console. Either way it didn't stop the game from running. A nice and simplistic title! Wish there was some sound but that doesn't stop the game from being fun to play. Nice job!

Like the idea. But something about the sizes just feel off. Maybe if the dude would have the same size as the thing you are protecting? Also when the fire gets stuck somewhere the physics go crazy. Oh and it would be really nice if the fire could regenerate in other fire, since its pretty unpredictable sometimes.

The game is good but the jumping felt odd. The style fits the game but i wish i could see the players healt.
