Hard not to love a gorgeous rail shooter, especially when you control a wristwatch. I loved all the backdrops and synthwave

Art is amazing but had a little trouble with the colliders on the smaller crafts. great game keep up the good work!

The amount of effort put in by a team shows here, the quality of all the art is amazing. The gameplay works very good.

@pastelgames this is true, and we found out during the "extensive play testing" session and we decided to fix it on the next day that never came... so all I can say is that... it is a feature? Thank you very much for your comments!

Really enjoy the art and music. Great work on your first submission!

Some nitpicks and hopefully helpful feedback:
1. Autofire would be preferable over button spam for firing.
2. Difficulty could ramp up more quickly.
3. I think it might be fun with a little more speed to start.
4. The purple shotgun bullet effect is a little too bright and wears my eyes out.

@jetty thanks for the rating and your kind words! I do agree on every point, but we ran out of time due to lack of practice I guess. I also wanted to change the placeholder sound effect for shooting, but the crunch was too real already.

Everything about the presentation and feel of the game is incredibly solid! I absolutely adore the old school style complete with the announcer; that rewind effect also helps bring together the "time"/wristwatch/loop themes - great work!

I agree with the comments about autofire - I do love tapping as fast as I can, but the machine gun became a blessing

It was very nice artwork. I know the machine gun makes it so you can hold down mouse to fire. I kind of wished that you could hold down fire for the normal gun too and it would just fire slower. My finger kind of hurt at the end. The music and theme was so cool and I really though the powerups were great.

@simpathey thanks for playing! Think about all the training you got for the mashing button minigames from Mario Party! Jokes aside, we very much agree : )

Really well polished game! Just a minor annoyance - I feel for games like this it's always better to have a hold left click for constant shooting instead of having to spam the button. But otherwise it was fun!

The art style and overall design are fantastic. When game is paused, enemies keep moving and this kinda breaks their behavior. Otherwise game is awesome, great job!

Good job man! I really enjoyed the arcade feel of it, from hitting the asteroids to destroying the ships or using power-ups, LOVE IT. What I miss is a bit more of speed, the game feels a bit slow, at least in the begining. Solid entry!

@celuloide Hey, thank you! We actually have a grey power-up that speeds you up, but its rare, only the boss drop it from a pool of other power-ups and if you get hit you loose it... so yeah, its rare. Why did we make this choice? Probably cause we are expert game developers.

Damn thats a great entry! Great graphics and music. Nice gameplay loop. Only bug that I encountered was when you pause the game, some enemy ships keep on flying off :D Overall very solid game!

Love the retro-neon aesthetics, that background is mesmerizing! And the music is pretty cool too. Gameplay wise, I wish it was a lot faster despite the speed upgrade, but it's still competent and fun as is.

Good job on this entry :v:

Very pretty game. :) I'm not sure how it fits the theme. To me it just feels like a typical shmup.

The player controls are extremely slow, probably about 2x slower than I would minimally want if not more. This made movement feel like a chore and something that I wanted to do as little as possible.

I didn't like having to click the mouse button for every shot. I would rather just hold the button down and it be automated. For me this is true with nearly any arcade shooter game.

There's no telegraphing on your enemy attacks, which made it difficult to predict and react to them (and movement speed was too low to react anyhow). However where they attack and the size of their ships left plenty of room for me to stay out of their attack area and still hit them.

Synthwave fuck yeah!

+1 to the one who said that about autofiring, my finger is acking.

Cool rewind effect also!

12387 :D That was fun ! I love the background art (even tho I initially confused the purple rocks as obstacles), its colors work amazingly well.
I didn't quite understand the powerup system as it sometimes felt like I was replacing a powerup with another rather than stacking them, as hinted by the top left UI elements.
Some attacks (particularly from the red ships) feel a bit cheap with projectiles way too fast without a proper way to tell their timing.
Auto-firing would have been welcome too :p
Good job!

Awesome music and amazing visuals, this feels very nostalgic :) Loved the feeling of getting upgrades as well! And cool boss ship. There is a good amount of variety and content enemy- and upgrade-wise here, very nice job. I would prefer if most weapons let me hold down the fire button, and it was hard to tell when an enemy would fire (although that made it pleasantly more challenging). Overall amazing job.

@game-endeavor Hi! Thank you for your feedback. Yeah, I agree about the autofire. We should have implemented that for every gun and not just for the machine gun, but well, that's part of the testing. I appreciate your comments.

The game fits the theme in the sense that we are looping around that ring (That you can see in the minimap) and with every loop the game become more and more difficult. Also to increment the sensation of the loop thing, we applied the rewind effect when dying.

About the movement, well, yeah, some of you guys mentioned the same, that it feels a bit slow... Well, we wanted to give you the chance to fell how the ship improves with the powerups, and again, this is something that we are able to adjust now that we have your feedback. Even though we cant change the game now as it would go against the rules, we will take all the feedback and make the most of it for the next thing that you see from us.

I'm glad you enjoyed it even though its not a superpolished game... But we are proud of it being aour first entry in a game jam. (Not only LD, but first jam ever)

Thank you!!

A well implemented rewind mechanic and nice subtle visual effects. The music is great but some audio effects are getting repetitive after a while. The enemy with the large beam could do with an animation to let the player know it's about to fire the beam. An old concept that never gets old. Thanks for submitting!

@bauke-regnerus Thank you for your kind words! We had like 4 different sound effects made for the shooting and a couple more for the explosions. sadly, we did not have time to implement them and the ones that are in the final version were the placeholder ones we made for the mockup. I also made a charge-up beam, but no animation to go with it. If we ever update this game we will take this in consideration. Thanks again!

Intresting shooting game with great graphic, I found the function of hold-to-shoot is added to rapid-fire bullets, what about adding it to normal bullets? Since there's no punishment for shot off and it's tiring to keep clicking XD

Gorgeous graphics - loved the art and lighting. For bullet-hell games in particular, the more enemies with less health, the better! The only frustrating part was not seeing asteroids for whatever reason until it was too late. Probably to distracted by that background! Thanks for sharing.

08. Oct 2020 · 15:20 UTC
@dimlight @afroant thank you for playing! Would definetly not hurt to have auto-fire on every weapon and change the sfx to a proper one while we are at it. Asteroids could use some visibility upgrades, like an outline or more contrast. Thank you for your feedback!

Well done team on your first Ludum Dare! Great graphics and really great music! Love the power ups too. That's the one thing that I wish I had time to get into my entry.

Agree with others about auto-fire on the first weapon, made sense once I got an upgrade, though putting a _limit_ on the re-fire would also have worked. (i.e. You can click but it won't do anything unless the shot is ready.)

I really like side scroll shooters like this, butt the controls were a bit too slow, and the enemy attack patterns a bit too repetitive. The rocks were hard to see sometimes, and I didn't realize that right-click activated the laser, some visual clues for that would be cool. The art style was impressive, and had some beautiful parts to it like the backgrounds, the enemies, and the particle effects, though the watch-ship itself just didn't feel like it fit in thematically with the rest of the game. I personally had to click way too many times it felt, and got tired, but the enemy waves and difficulty level felt like it was on a good curve. The curve for how powerful my weapons were felt a bit too flat. Pretty fun game, thank you for it :)

Haha nice one, player movement is slow and enemy lasers way too fast for my taste, but just the rewind effect is a win

A good solid horizontal space shooter you got going here :) I enjoyed it till it lasted. The forth loop got pretty hard, especially when you get hit and lose your fire power. The controls were snappy and worked well. I also appreciated the enemy variety, you even got a working boss fight! Furthermore, the art was great, especially the details you put into the background layers. That really looks like a lot of work. The game play get's stale rather quickly due to the "loop" factor even though you really tried to make thinks engaging by introducing power ups. There is only so much one can do in 72h, so that was to be expected.

All in all, I had a good time! Good job!

[We played your game on stream this weekend!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/779942253?t=00h40m29s)

I'm a sucker for SHMUPS, and this one was no exception. I do kind of wish the game would give out power-ups a little more frequently. I'd have loved to try out all of the different guns, but they just never seemed to drop... :(

Would love to see where you might take this in the future!

That was pretty fun. The pacing was slow, but the awesome graphics and music made it a pleasant experience. Btw, I *think* I submitted my high score, but never saw a leaderboard. I'm guessing you ran out of time before implementing that?

Either way, nice entry!
