Firekeeper by someoneman

[raw]
made by someoneman for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

You are stranded in the mountains at night, and a small fire is the only thing delaying your death by hypothermia. Collect materials to keep the fire burning and use an umbrella to keep it dry until the sun rises.

Interesting game, there were a couple of gitches, like not being able to restart the game and still dieing even with a raging fire going. Jumping back and forth between protecting the fire and adding more fuel was intense! Good job. :)

It is unclear on how to play the game, maybe add instruction somewhere?

I really like this, simple idea but works well and quite challenging!

There were a few things I think were bugs, I'm running Firefox 75.0 on Win10:
- Try again button broken
- Game doesn't end when rain puts fire out
- Says I froze to death even if fire is still alight at morning

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Gets very intense the further you get into it.

That was stressful!

It is quite easy to miss the rain drops, especially if you have a big fire, perhaps a sound effect would have helped. Also the restart button doesn't work.

Liked the "juggle" between fueling fire and using the umbrella, but I think it would have been better to give a little more time at the start to let the player understand what is on the screen and the interactions. I had to lose once to understand how to play, and lose several time to understand that there was water that was falling in the fire^^

But anyway, still good job on making this in 48h, there is some good ideas in there o/

Interesting game! The idea is cool, but the items are really small and clicking on them can be tricky. Although, there's no win condition (or maybe there is, I couldn't get to it if there was one) and so it's really just surviving as long as you can, and since the game gets harder as you progress, it can get pretty hectic. I wish there were more things to do in the game though, but that's ok because this was made in only 48 hours. Still, nice job!
